This was my first time attending the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse. It was a delightful experience. The staff are all polite and... professional. The acting was excellent. The Tavern is designed so there is not a bad seat in the house. The food was very good.No bad hot wings, loaded fries or greasy burgers. Real food that is made on site and very tasty. Kudo to the Chef! Read more

Brought a class of 15 high school seniors to watch the Macbeth matinee. The show, actors, stage, and accomodations were... wonderful. Would've been a five star rating if only... During the beginning of the show we (the audience) were advised that ifwe left we would not be let in until intermission. Additional "rules" were given.. none of which mentioned leaving thepremises. During the 20 minute intermission, a student asked if they could get a snack they left in the car. I agreed, seeing asthe staff encouraged snacking during this time. When my two students were near the entrance, a staff member (blonde hair)yelled at them from across the room ("Nope!! You are NOT allowed to leave once the show starts get back to your seats"). Thiscaused a noticeable hush among everyone and embarrassed the students. It was done in poor taste and if this was indeed a rule itshould have been shared during the introduction along the other cited rules. During the first act, despite having told us not belate.. the staff ushered in another school mid scene. The shuffling and seating of this group was sooo loud and disruptive thatit took away from the scene. Additionally, the intermission was a mere 10 mins later. The tardy school could (and should) havewaited until then to enter. These isolated incidents put a damper on our experience. Read more

First time here, I saw Much Ado about Nothing with a few friends and was really blown away by the whole experience! The... building/decor, the drinks, the stage, the staff and the cast are SPECTACULAR and really set a period vibe. The show washonestly laugh-till-you-tear-up hysterical with just enough modern references thrown in. *bring a sweater, seriously, it'sdelightfully chilly inside Read more

I can't believe I've lived in the Atlanta area for almost 8 years, and this past weekend was my first visit here! It is such a... unique and inspired experience. It's well laid out, thought out, and executed from the moment you step inside. I love the optionof eating and drinking while being entertained by true theatre professionals. The menu had variety (even for this vegetarian -their seasonal ratatouille was delicious). The volunteers are all so cheery and helpful. And there truly doesn't seem to be abad seat in the house. We were fortunate to attend The Complete Works, and I don't think I've ever laughed as hard or as often -the cast was absolutely stellar. I can't wait to go back! Read more

Such a fun little theater! My wife and I had a great time as a date night. Id recommend going on a Thursday night, if you can.... Tickets are cheaper, seats are better, and it wasn?t too crowded. The staff are courteous and super friendly. I thought theacting and slightly modernized Shakespeare was spot on. They apparently do more Shakespeare plays here than anywhere else inthe country! The experience definitely shows. The food also far exceeded our expectations! It was affordable and delicious. Iwould highly recommend the vegetable curry and zucchini bread! The lentil soup was great too. You can?t really go wrong andshould definitely eat there as opposed ti going somewhere else. I?m sorry that we didn?t discover this place sooner, though weare excited to go back again next month! Read more

This was our first play (Much Ado About Nothing) at the Shakespeare Tavern and it was WONDERFUL! We loved the set up - very cozy... and we got to really enjoy the show up close. The cast is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ???? Great acting, singing, humor - It was ablast! The show itself and the food options are incredibly affordable and you get your money?s worth for sure. It was great tobe able to eat & drink there and not have to go out separately. All of the staff was so amiable and welcoming. We willdefinitely be back on the regular! Read more
