Driving from Ohio to Florida and taking nightmarish 75, I purposefully headed to the closest Rodney Scott restaurant in Atlanta.... I kept hoping it was all I had hoped for and worth the traffic! Great service! Nice looking place and excellent music. I orderedthe whole hog sandwich, collar?s and baked beans. The baked beans were outstanding, collards were so spicy by the time I duginto the pulled pork, I couldn?t taste it. Greens in my book should taste green- collards are strong but that?s the beauty ofthem and I missed it all with so much heat. The pulled pork should have been the best I?ve ever tasted but it was dry, notjuicy. I want so bad to pay the greatest compliment to a great man but the pork was just too dry. My taste buds aren?t anyoneelse?s so you may disagree. Still, I?ll go back next trip and never give up because I know you can?t judge a restaurant on justone meal. Best of luck and keep the flame burning. Read more

Not the best in the city, but a solid BBQ joint. Don't skip the desserts; they are the best part. We tried the loaded double... potato, with a juicy heaping serving of pork on top, which is a big meal for one on its own. The rib portion on the two meatplate is solid, and the ribs hold up to the other good ones in town. The sliced turkey was moist and flavorful. The pulledchicken was fairly mundane. Great mac and cheese, and flavorful peppery collards. The hand pies are baked and solid. The bananapudding is the BEST we've ever had. Read more

Throw the whole restaurant away! Ok, I?ll be nice. As a born and raised GA girl, it was not my cup of tea. I had such high... hopes after watching the show. My husband and I got the Rodney?s whole hog sandwich, 12 smoked wings, French fries, mac &cheese, banana pudding, and 2 sodas. Our total was $61. I ended up throwing away the sandwich, mac & cheese, and pudding. Myhusband ate the wings and fries. The pulled pork tasted like vinegar and pepper; it was also dry. It was topped with porkskins, they were ok. The wings had rubbery skin. The mac & cheese was dry and the small serving definitely wasn?t worth thealmost $4 extra dollars. The banana pudding was just horrible. It tasted like foam. I was completely blown away that thatfood was that horrible. I wish I could rave about the staff but the cashier and guy that brought us our food certainly was?just doing their job?. Nothing, I mean nothing extra. If you like a vinegar based, spicy bbq, then this is for you. Oh?. Iwon?t even talk about the vinegar based bbq sauces. And then $61!!! Ok, I?m done. Read more
