Everything was ehhh. The dressing was definitely stove top stuffing.. the Mac n cheese couldn?t hold weight to any fast food mac... smh the greens were decent and the Turkey wing very tender but no flavor. This literally is SLOP. I have never had anything so disgusting in my entire life. I ordered a meatloaf meal with yams, greens,... and I ordered an extra side of dressing. The yams were cut up into tiny scrap-like pieces and over loaded with cinnamon andnutmeg. The greens were full of stems, clearly from a can. And the corn muffins and meatloaf are burnt. I have been excited to try this place for a while. It?s been around for years and has a loyal following, but unfortunately for... me the food was disappointing. Although the long line moves pretty quickly and the workers are friendly, the food doesn?t stackup to other soul food spots, like The Beautiful and Big Daddy?s for cafeteria style and Mary Mac?s and Busy Bee for sit down.Even though it?s considered a BBQ spot, This Is It even has a delicious soul food meat and three. I?ve only been here once, somaybe I caught it on a bad day. My review based off my one meal: Candied Yams = Very strange taste and texture. Inedible. Hadto throw away 1/10 Squash = Watery and mushy. Overcooked? I also had to throw these away too, but not before a few bites3/10 Broccoli Casserole = By far the best of my sides. This place stayed packed. The servers move pretty fast depending on how many plates they are having to fix per customer.... Everything is already prepared. I try to visit a Black owned restaurant now matter where I travel, and this one was pretty good.The servers and cashier were very nice. The pork chop was cold but everything else was hot. Read more
This place is not worth the hype ! I?m really surprised by all the 5 star reviews. I had Mac and cheese which was basic and no... flavor other than the cheese which was very stringy . My wings were ok nothing to go crazy about and the collard greens andyams were a big disappointment and a NO ! They had no flavor and reminded me of hospital food ! The biggest disappointment wasthe peach cobbler! Omg it was so watery and had no flavor and I don?t even know what the crust was made from since there was notaste to it . You can get way better soul food in New York and NJ than here This is not the place to come To for soul food ifvisiting atlanta !
