I had never heard of the company until my boss sent a meal to our home when my family and I were down with covid. To my surprise... the food was so good! We had pasta, salad, steamed broccoli and french rolls. I also appreciated how they had the details forheating each item so I didn?t have to go look it up. Oh and the butterscotch dessert bar was yummy too! Needless to say, I willbe using them for myself as well as recommending to others. Excellent meals. (We are picky food snobs so being able to choose from the menu was a great option for us) We took a chance on... the vegan crab cakes which were lemony artichoke cakes - delicious! There was a problem with our delivery on our first order andAshley quickly made it right. Salads were fresh and good. Asparagus was tender and presentation perfect on all selections. There is easily enough food for 3 meals. We will be using this company again AND it is much better than flowers! Read more
Absolutely outstanding!!! What a great way to enjoy a fabulous and tasty treat.They certainly live up to their name. Dinner was... fantastic and tasted like it came from fine dining, but delivered to our door. Everything was cooked to perfection and justneeded to be heated up. Everything about this experience was great, from the surprise of my friend sending a gift, to the selections, and the enjoyable... eating. Having lovely food without cooking, and very little clean-up after, was like being pampered at a spa. The choice ofdinners was full and varied, all tempting, not weird, very much like a nice, full-service, tablecloth restaurant. The orderingprocess was smooth and straightforward. The food was delicious, in just-right-sized portions (a dinner for 2, with enough for a3rd meal the next day). It was delivered when expected, in a quilted zip-top reusable bag, in containers easy to heat up andserve. My choice was the salmon with lobster sauce, wild rice, asparagus, a very fresh salad, and cheesecake. I loved it, andrecommend it. Read more
This is SO MUCH BETTER than flowers! I have used Instead of Flowers for a couple of years now and have never been disappointed... with the quality of the food or the convenience of letting the recipient pick the menu and choose the date it is delivered. Since we first received it as a gift, I have ordered it for several friends who were having surgery or had a loss in the family. This week a friend sent it to us as we recovered from the current plague, and it was such a blessing! We ordered the shrimp &grits, green beans, mandarin salad, French rolls and cheesecake. The shrimp was grilled and placed on top of the flavorfulgrits. The green beans were NOT overcooked... just right to heat in the microwave. Everything was restaurant quality and camein a large insulated bag that is a gift in itself. We had enough leftovers for my lunch tomorrow, so I guess some people eatlarger portions than we do. Three rolls was perfect as my husband eats two and I eat one. The third slice of cheesecake willbe split tomorrow night! ;?) Read more
What a treat. The day after moving into a new house and unpacking our son arranged for a dinner for us. We enjoyed wild rice... with cranberries, salmon with lobster sauce, asparagus, salad and dinner rolls. Everything was fabulous. We finished off withrocky road brownies!!!! The portions were great. We even had enough leftovers to pack up two light lunches for the next day.Would highly recommend this local business! Read more
I received a gift certificate from this establishment from my family out of town. I had never heard of it and was a bit... skeptical. Wow, it was absolutely amazing!!! Truly much better than any flowers they might have sent. I ordered the SeafoodCreole meal and it was delicious. Best Creole I?ve had since leaving Louisiana!! They delivered it in a Reusable thermal bagand it was hot and fresh. I could not have been more impressed - and I?m a pretty tough restaurant critic. Highly recommend. Read more
I received this as a gift. The meal was excellent. It came in a very nice insulated bag. Each meal item was packaged well and... had heating instructions on the outside of each container. I especially liked the choices to change out the sides whileselecting the meal. I would definitely give this as a gift. Read more
