Rustic Vibe, Loaded Tots with a Side of Fruit Flies On a googling whim, I found this eatery in search of large portions and... tater tots and could not wait to try their loaded tater tots. Upon entering, I spied a small bar with roughly 5 stools and twosets of dining areas. Simply, it is much larger inside than the outside shows. First, I went here twice within the month, justto see how consistent the service/food was. My first visit was great from the personable server, I forget his name but he was awhite male with facial hair. He appeared knowledgeable of the menu and definitely suggested I try the tots. While eating, Ibattled with a fruit flies to make sure it didn't go into my drink or land in my food. By the way, don't order the margarita.I'd suggest 86ing that item off of the menu, because it tasted like some type of juice and water. After my meal, I walked Grantpark to bask in my post-meal bliss. The second time I went, I came with a friend. With my suggestion, she ordered the tots andthey were still phenomenal. Our meal came promptly and was hot. I love the spice. Again, we battled with fruit flies. It waskind of a running joke. Was a bit let down by the server, who was not my previous server. Just would like to be checked on more,because we surely wanted to wash down the delicious food with more cocktails. No worries, we chose to walk to a nearby store andgrab a few for the house. The menu is not appealing but supposedly the burgers are quite good. I opted for a buffalo chicken taco which was drowned in so... much buffalo sauce I couldn't taste the miniscule amount of blue cheese dressing or the chicken. Topped with lettuce andserved in a grilled tortilla this dish is completely underwhelming. Topped that off with margarita with jalapeno simple syrupthat was revolting, flat coke, and water that tasted like metal pipes. Nice spot and great service. Read more
I feel bad that I did not get a good picture before taking a bite. This was a perfectly cooked grilled chicken sandwich and side... salad. The staff was busy but very helpful. Their food looked as good as it tasted. The outdoor eating area was ideal thisevening with a slight breeze and lots of shade. I would highly recommend giving Dakota Blue a try. Favorite neighborhood grub for many years. Good prices for bevs and food. Family and dog friendly place with great burritos.... Vegan options are available and yummy. Don?t forget to order the chipotle habanero sauce. Best sauce in the world. Read more
Just landed in Atlanta and needed to kill time so we went over to visit Grant Park. On our way to a pizza joint across the... street we spied Dakota Blue. Whether vegan or carnivore, or something in between, their menu has a ?healthy bar food? vibe. Good beer and liquor list with a few wine and house cocktail selections rounds out a lazy afternoon. Sounds like the place ishopping in the evening. Very casual. Got a slightly ?5-Points? vibe. Young families, retirees (like myself), hipsters,students and college professors describe the scene. A wonderfully rustic bike shop (reminiscent of Berkeley environs) sits tothe left and we?ll have to wander in there on our way out. Came for lunch and purchased the Super Nachos 10/10 . Lunch staff were extremely helpful . Great service . On the other hand I... came back for dinner and the night shift was not so pleasant. Valerie and Sydney were absolutely rude and unprofessional . Kept walking past without asking if I needed to place an order or needed any assistance . Then refused to refund my order thenproceeed to have horrible attitudes for the rest of the interaction Sydney also lied about not having a manager on duty when Iasked to speak to one then Valerie claimed to be the manager then Valerie also made a nasty comment to Sydney about ?just tryingto get me out? . Night shift has Horrible Customer service . Would not recommended such nasty attitudes being around your food . Read more
