There is no such thing as a bad choice there at Kelly's on Lumpkin. Everything is absolutely delicious. I had the spicy cabbage,... beans and rice and barbecue chicken. I've also had the oxtail, curry chicken, and beef patties...All was absolutely superb! Myonly complaint was they were out of mac and cheese and I was like the 10th person in line and I really love their mac andcheese. Fingers crossed for next time! Read more

My first experience with Jamaican food, loved it. It sets the standard in my opinion. Very flavorful but be careful. The food is... hot and spicy. On your first try do not get any extra gravy unless you really like hot and spicy food. The plantains are thebest. I don't normally eat mac and cheese but their's is fantastic. Cornbread is fantastic too. I'm tempted to move to Athens sol can eat there more often Read more

Just moved down the street from Kelly's. Went to try their jerk pork (with sides of spicy zucchini and mac 'n' cheese). The Mac... 'n' cheese isn't very cheesy, but still delicious. The zucchini was spicy, but also very sweet (which was unexpected, butdelicious). The pork was magnificent. Having roots in the Caribbean myself, I find myself being perhaps too picky when it comesto any sort of Caribbean food. This is easily one of the best jerk porks I've ever had in my life! The meal also came with apiece of cornbread and some sweet tea. I asked if they would tone down the sweetness of the sweet tea (ask for 'half and half'),and they did. The sweet tea was perfect, and the cornbread was delicious without being too sweet. Spoke a little bit with oneof the owners, and he was a great guy (even allowed me to use what looked like his own personal pepper sauce). The food wasvery spice and packed with flavor! Prices are very reasonable. Planning my next trip with my girlfriend soon! Read more

Just about the best Jamaican I've ever had. The squash, cabbage, and cornbread are sweet, and the jerk is spicy-- like, actually... hot. The owners/staff are quiet and sweet, too. I enjoyed the time I spent here. Thank you all. Read more

Picked up some jerk chicken, spicy coleslaw, and plantains. Each were good in their own right. This was probably the spiciest... jerk chicken and coleslaw I have ever had. So, if you like "hot" Jamaican food, this is the place to go. The people there wereextremely nice and helpful. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, but the food is pickup only right now. You might be allowed tosit on the expansive covered seating outside. We were on the go so didn't stay. The traffic for the food was steady during 4thJuly week...so it's made an impression on the Athens crowd. Read more
