Beautiful and historic restaurant. Had the pickles snack and the grilled peaches for an appetizer, and they were fantastic.... Highly recommend. My Catfish main was light and tasty - very well portioned. Do yourself a favor and if you are looking for anice restaurant in Athens. Put this on your list. Five and Ten was fantastic. The menu is eclectic American, and the bar had a good selection of beer and drink options. There... is an extensive wine list that looked great, but we were not drinking wine this evening. The three of us split two appetizers-a caprese salad that was fresh and tasty, and the mushroom risotto, which was possibly the best thing we ate. We also shared apickle plate that was both delicious and refreshing. For mains, we ordered the 1/2 roasted chicken, the pork chop, andspaghetti. All three were prepared beautifully and tasted great. We also split the cornbread wit honey butter which was also ahighlight. The waitstaff and support were friendly and informative and made the meal even more delightful. One of the best restaurants in Athens I’ve been to. They use high quality ingredients and have some very refined dishes on the... menu. Great spot for a quiet, fancy dinner. The restaurant is a converted house, so there are several areas that separateguests which is kind of nice. It keeps the noise low and feels more private. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menuand knew how different dishes were prepared and explained what to expect from each dish we asked about. Plan to spend around$40/plate plus more for any drinks. Well worth the price. Read more
Absolutely amazing experience! For fine dining I highly recommend this restaurant. Took my wife there for her birthday, (leap... year girl, she’s 14, ha ha). As soon as we walked in, the staff were very friendly. Our server, Bob, was absolutely amazing.The perfect balance of attention and knowledge. So much to rave about, I couldn’t possibly fit it all in a review. The decorwas really interesting! Our server even explained about these amazing plates they use that were obtained from the US Navy. As anautical history buff, I loved it! I’ll attach a picture. The food was absolutely wonderful! Great presentation, great flavor.A perfect balance that was flavorful but not overwhelming. The drinks and drink selection were worth returning for! And thedesert; well let’s just say you better leave room for desert! We sat in the outdoor dining area and loved the heated porch.And the prices are very reasonable for the amazing cuisine and service. There was another couple near us that had a leap yearbirthday. We decided to treat them and we paid for their entrees. Even with their meals added to our check, we were stillpleased with the price! So in closing of this very long review, you absolutely must experience this restaurant. I promiseyou’ll be pleased and Will want to return.
