I did a DoorDash here. 1st time coming here & yes it?s the last!! Just straight RUDENESS & ATTITUDE from the guy at the counter... . I guess he was a little aggravated with all the drunk people trying to get calzones. & the bulldogs won the game last night.But to be rude and basically snappy with everyone is just insane!! The concept is great....you get a calzone you want and it is just the right size for one person. Fairly economical and quick... meal. This is about where good things end. We may have caught them on a bad day but the dough edges on both our calzones werenot cooked fully. Vegetables filling was also partially cooked..... chewing on raw onions on a pizza is not good. (Edit on09/03/2022 - to clarify we had calzones and not pizzas. I mentioned pizza as a generic term.) We may try again when they arebusy but I would not recommend. Read more
Great food and service. They are some hard working people. I work nights and need a pick me up and since they are open the... latest we order from them. It was getting close to closing. I got delayed going to pick up and was worried they'd be closedsince it was 10 mins till and I've had places close before thinking no one will pick up. They were there and waiting. This is the only correct place to get calzones in Athens. Don?t waste your time at Eddie?s. There?s hardly ever a crowd, and... it?s a fun place to go to after a late night downtown. The BBQ Chicken Zone can take my money. Read more
D.P. Dough is my husband's and my favorite restaurant in Athens. Eddie's Calzones are not bad, but D.P. Dough has so much more... cheese. And it's amazing that they are open so late (we work night shift). Note: their dessert cheesecake pie calzones are thetastiest things ever, when they don't run out because everyone must love them as much as we do! if you see them on the onlinemenu, order them because they might be out next time! ***Follow Up: I ended up getting a text from David after I left the review at the bottom and I am not only impressed at how... willing he is to reach out to his clientele, but his willingness to make things right with his customers. Super nice guy, veryeasygoing, totally a person you'd have a beer with. I learned a few things that have made me change my impression: addingspices is an extra, so make sure you ask for it ("hook it up"). If you order through EatStreet, they charge extra for popularitems because they charge DP Dough a commission fee. That being said, if you ask for extra sauces like marinara on the side andyou order through EatStreet, they might not give it to you because technically you didn't pay for it-- this is something theyare working to figure out, though. If you call them directly, their prices are a bit lower and you'd get to talk to nice-guyDavid! Bonuses are always a treat. I respect this company. Also, their delivery drivers are kind and gentle with yourfood. Previous post: 4 dollars for cheese tots isn't worth it. There were no spices on the calzone so it was super bland. Iasked for sour cream and marinara and got neither except for ketchup. Go to Eddie's Calzones instead-- more tots, better cheese,spices on the Calzones and the fully fulfill your order. Read more
My calzone was dry and pretty tasteless. Long wait time, but friendly staff. My calzone was definitely not worth $13. The... toppings I got (onions and mushrooms) were raw, and not evenly distributed. Read more
