The Ferrari Club of America - Colorado Chapter enjoyed a wonderful drive to the Pine Creek Cookhouse followed by a brilliant... lunch outside on the patio. The setting of the restaurant is incredible and the main reason to go there. However, over $100 for tea, soup and a sandwich for... two people is outrageous even by Aspen standards. Even with those prices, the portions were quite small - for example, a smallcup of soup. The service was good but at the astronomical prices they charge a mandatory 20% tip is totally unreasonable. Wonderful setting, service, and meals. Although they could not find our reservation, we were seated immediately and given great... service. We both chose trout and it was delicious. People complaining about spending $$ there should realize everything isbrought in fresh and the servers probably all have quite a drive to get there. We were thankful for all of it. I used to love this experience but now it is terrible. First they refused to let us sit at a table outside with an umbrella... because it was “reserved” even though we also had a reservation (buy more umbrellas!). The manager was so incredibly rude. Then the menu was now prix fixed, even for the kids, at $90 each with food they would never eat. Ii could not get out of therefast enough and sadly will not go back. Used to be a wonderful destination after a lovely hike but now I’d rather pack a lunchthan eat here. Read more
