Drop everything and get to Ashland ASAP to dine at MÄS. I am a food inspired traveler, and have spent the past 10 years of my... life exploring every corner of the USA and the world for the best dining experiences. I have dined at many 1, 2, and 3 Michelinstarred (and many unstarred) restaurants on 5 continents (Australia isn't covered by a Michelin guide), and without a doubt MÄSis one of my all time favorite meals. Washington and Oregon state also are not covered by a Michelin guide, so one begins towonder, are Michelin stars even relevant? Because MÄS would definitely have some stars if it were possible. Every dish was aperfect bomb of umami (excluding dessert) that left nothing to be desired. Josh has put so much thought and creativity intoamplifying and blending all of the multi faceted and intricate flavors and textures (I've never had crunchy seaweed in a soupbefore!) The Hokkaido scallop made me teary eyed, and it is almost impossible for me to be impressed. Something about theintimacy of a small group at a chef's counter definitely stirs my soul, and I am going to continue to seek out experiences likethis. Oh, and, Josh has better taste in wine than anyone I've ever met. I'm already dreaming of the day I get to come back. Read more

This was the single greatest progression of flavors I have ever experienced. The attention to detail and presentation to go with... the overall skill to combine foods and create flavors........... spectacular! Read more

One of, if not the best restaurant in Southern Oregon that also happens to be exploring food from multiple interesting... perspectives. Sourcing locally for many of the ingredients, awesome things you won’t easily find in Manhattan or Napa. A realtreat, carefully curated by the chef and the amazing team. Read more

Our best friends treated us to MAS recently. It was our first time there. Hands down the most memorable and amazing dining... experience to date. Starting with the freshest oysters all the way to the finish, each course burst with flavor. Dependant on afew simple ingredients, prepared so artfully, each bite is an education in what is possible when a skilled craftsman is at thehelm. Looking forward to experiencing MAS again in the future! Read more

Josh is an amazing chef, visionary and an embracer of all things local and fresh. So impressed with the dining experience... tonight as well as the wine pairing selections. We've eaten at Thomas Keller’s French Laundry and this is a far betterexperience from the food offerings to intimacy! Read more

If you can imagine the pure, uninhibited joy you felt as a child the very first time you tasted something like potato chips or... ice cream...at Mas, I had the opportunity to re-experience that utter delight as an adult. I am a self-trained chef and I lovefood to the depths of my soul. Yet I experienced depths of flavor the likes of which I could not have conceived beforetonight. Quite simply, if you can afford to eat here...do! If you can't afford it, save up the money to make it an especialtreat. Either way, you will not regret the experience! Read more
