We just moved to town in Aug, from Salem, OR-- where you can find lots of good (heavy, though) Mexican food in the valley. We... had tried another highly rated place in town this summer, but it was so heavy and no better than what we can get in Salem forless $. I'd heard that Agave was fresh and light, something different. So this afternoon was my first time dining in thisvibrant little eatery. I had the fresh fish tacos of the day-- rockfish. They were grilled with delicious filling and servedwith rice & pintos. I took some carnitas "wet" burritos home for son & husband, and a chicken & green chile tamale for myself, for an extra treat. All food was fresh, clean and wholesome tasting (that's why I had room for the tamale treat later, haha!). Service was courteous & knowledgeable. Seems like a nice place to eat, no matter the weather. The menu andaccommodations can serve during the warm and the cool. Read more

My daughter and my son-in-law are plant-based eaters who rarely go out to dine because of their limited options. They want... fresh, organic foods. Agave is one of the very few places that they dine. We were a large group and the food was good. I thinkthey are a little overpriced because it's not outstanding or that much better than other Mexican restaurants. We sat outside andtook our time. Like so many businesses, they are understaffed and the service suffers a little because of it. Certainly worthgoing here if you're downtown and in the mood for Mexican food. Read more

Tried the chilaquiles and green chile chicken tamale. Tamale was excellent. I?ve had much better chilaquiles. Not a lot of... flavor to them. Read more

Wonderful flavors. Homemade chips and salsa but the nickel and dime-ing is pretty heavy. $6 for a shrimp taco and they come with... three little shrimps. A couple oz of salsa for a party of four means I?m getting up several times to ask for more salsa? andthen chips. It?s a fine restaurant in a good location, but the portions leave me hungry. Quiet little place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Great menu for mixing vegetarians with carnivors and everything was... fresh and well seasoned. Will definitely be back. Read more

Portions are on the smaller side. The shrimp cocktail is served in an ice cream triangle cup. Super small with maybe five... shrimp. The tacos have cabbage as well as the side salad. I would of enjoyed something differnt. Maybe in texture or flavor toswitch up the taste to wake up the palate. Everything tasted the same nothing really stood out. Although over priced I probablywould stick to the tacos. Taste wise its ok. But not a go to when I am really hungry! Read more

This creekside gem blew me away. The west coast (even the northern areas like Oregon) has a high bar when it comes to Mexican... food and these guys exceeded it, and then some. I started off with their house special margarita (perfectly balanced, notoverpowered with tequila and also not too sweet) and then had the fresh salsa with homemade chips (crisp, perfectly salted, notgreasy whatsoever). The ceviche had a generous amount of shrimp and the complementary textures made it one of my favorites, andthe tacos/beans/rice clinched the deal. The owner and management were totally on their game -- attentive without hovering, super friendly yet professional, and genuinely appreciative of each customer who chose Agave over the many other restaurantsnearby. The protected patio overlooking the creek was intimate and provided great people-watching as I enjoyed one of the bestmeals I've had in Ashland in years. Gracias Amigos! Read more
