We stopped at UJ for a late dinner. We just walked up and grabbed an outdoor table. Service was very friendly and helpful. The... biggest problem I had was choosing from the great menu. The avocado tacos were great and I was surprised that I also liked theImpossible burger. I usually find the meat substitute to be too rich and overwhelming, but all the fresh veggies and addedcheddar made it just perfect. Tater tots with some BBQ really rounded out the meals. Others in our group were really happy withthe fish Reuben and the buffalo burger. I definitely plan to return and try the tofu tacos and some of the beer or cider ontap. Universal Joint is a great, casual place to meet up with friends or even have a family meal. Read more
Was in town for 2 days. Didn?t realize a lot of restaurants closed at 9. Googled places to eat that were open and ended up... choosing/finding Universal Joint. I ordered a Swiss mushroom burger and it was really good and flavorful. The fries wereperfectly crispy and hot. I got a side of cheese curds and the breading was flavorful with a little kick. Portions were big .Relaxing outdoor atmosphere. Waitress attentive and friendly. Definitely will come again if I?m back in the area. Read more
First time I've actually eaten here and will be back, absolutely have to come back; they have a burger called, "The Steinbeck"!... Are you kidding? Pimento Cheese, pickled jalapenos and topped with the candy of meat, Peppered Bacon! Excellent Burger! Add aside of fries a pint of Highland IPA, and a pint Boojum Brown! Excellent Lunch! Read more

Our Burgers were great and our Server?Wes was top notch! The avocado appetizer was a little odd-probably wouldn?t get it again.... But the burgers were to DIE FOR. I got the mushroom & Swiss burger and my husband got the California Bison Burger. We ran acrossthis place when the place we were looking for was closed for refurb! We will be back! Thanks y?all! I read a review that said, "Best Burger Ever." So I tried the Bacon Cheeseburger with Tater Tots. I don't know if it was the... best ever, but it was really delicious. Three slices of crispy thick slice bacon atop a generous beef pattie with cheddarcheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Cooked perfect. The others in my party got Chicken Phillies and Sweet Potato tots. Unexpected stop at Asheville for our group but loved this place. Service was on point and staff was friendly and quick to bring... out the food. The egg rolls, nachos and avocado tacos was awesome!
