There was good and there was bad. The service was great. The price for this meal was not nearly worth what was received. You can... very easily spend up a few dollars and get a much better product, or spend down a few dollars and get the same food and probablystill have a better overall meal. The small plates we ordered were severely overpriced and not very good. We got the heirloomtomato small plate. This was $8 and consisted of two slices of tomato, a large bed of arugula, and very few small bits ofmozzarella. We also got the fried shrimp small plate. This was $16 and consisted of 3 whole fried shrimp. There was a whitecream dip (?) smeared on the plate that had no taste. The shrimp were extremely salty and had a very strong seafood/fishyflavor. One of the shrimp was not deveined. Very gross. Our entrees were very good despite the small plates. We had the porkshoulder. It was cooked perfectly and the corn and roasted peppers were exceptional. We also had the quail which was excellent.Do not rely on the website to check the menu as it was not the same as the menu offered in the restaurant. Read more

Succulent trout, creamy risotto, and extensive wine list in modern pleasant atmosphere. Great for date night or bring... well-behaved kids for the macaroni. Read more

While the environment was nice and the service was good, my girlfriend and I both agreed that the breakfast was overpriced for... what was served, especially the $10 mimosa! The food was quality but I did find a small piece of plastic in my potatoes. Wewould like to come back and try lunch but will probably not return for breakfast due to the prices. Read more

Food was bland. My ricotta ravioli was swimming in some kind of pesto sauce and the pasta was not done. The asparagus was an... after thought and put in raw. 10 count pour on an old fashion and the server said that is how they do it. Bar guest got up andsaid good luck when he left. Wow. Such a disappointment when this place place was recommended. Read more

Detailed Review Incoming: We had an interesting experience at this restaurant today. Arrived for an Easter brunch at 10 am. We... were not talked to by a waiter until 10:20. We didn?t end up getting our orders taken until 11:03 and then received our food at11:15. Our bakery items (jalapeño biscuit, cinnamon roll) were cold and when asked if served cold they said no and apologized, took back the plate and instead of giving us a new one they ?warmed it up? ???????? I would think for $45 a person they would atleast give us a new one? Brunch was $45 a person but does not include coffee, juice, or any other drinks. Don?t expect to feelprioritized as during a slow morning brunch we felt invisible to the staff. The appetizers were AMAZING! Crab cakes and friedoyster were delicious and presentation was amazing. Main course was not as good as it looked but still tasty. We got the steakand eggs as well as the trout. (Trout was better) Overall this restaurant has potential and the food is pretty great. For $45per person I would expect better treatment from staff and at least include a coffee or something! Just felt very overpriced andwas saddened by lack of attention and timeliness. No food place should take 45 minutes before asking what you want to eat:/ PS: if gluten free they do not have many options in the brunch menus, also the staff is not very informed on what is GFfriendly or not. I had a pleasurable experience at The Market Place. I wanted my food to speak to me - I am delicious, and it did! The braised... pork shoulder was tasty and melted in my mouth. The drinks were beautifully balanced! Down the Rabbit Hole was a great dinneraccompaniment. Boulevardier is a nice standalone or palette cleanser? because everyone needs to remember to make room fordessert! Thank you for making my solo dining experience in Asheville memorable! I relished every bite! I made tonight?sreservation thru Open Table. No regrets - Absolutely recommend! Enjoy! Read more

I was in Asheville last week, and ate at The Market Place Restaurant and Lounge? The vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant were... perfect, definitely a nice restaurant, but I didn?t feel out of place in my jeans. The service was excellent, and food andcocktails delicious! I would highly recommend a visit to The Market Place! I had a bourbon cocktail, called Down the RabbitHole, and it was so delicious, I had to have 2 more (I was in an Uber for the night, lol)? For dinner I had the Wood GrilledBrasstown Beef Strip, with Roasted Vegetables. Let me tell you, everything was so yummy, there wasn?t a drop left in my cocktailglass, or a single scrap of food left on my plate! And I prefer to sit at the bar when I eat out, for whatever reason. Theentire bar staff was super friendly, and made me feel right at home. I will definitely be visiting them again, the next time I?min Asheville Read more

Amazing brunch. Shrimp and grits was my favorite I've ever had. Each bite was just perfect. The sweet potato donut holes were... a surprise to see on a menu and it worked. Very good. I had their smokey bacon and syrup old fashioned and was notdisappointed, it was great. Over all the theme of this place supporting local farms is evident in their menu. The restaurantit self if inviting and service was on spot. Great great place to have a brunch. I can only imagine other menus will be justas good. Can not wait to try again on another visit to Asheville. Read more
