The Admiral hadn't changed! We used to come here all the time when we lived more locally; it's been seven years since we last... enjoyed a meal here. We always get the tartare. Cocktails are delicious. We both enjoyed our entrees--cooked perfectly. Read more

Great from start to finish! Upon arrival, we discovered that we didn’t have reservations after all. But, Greta was wonderful... and worked her magic to secure us a table. Our server, Mark, was great! He was extremely attentive and made the perfectsuggestions for our entire group. We loved everything that we ordered from drinks to food to dessert. I even left somethingbehind on our table by accident but called them to ask them to locate it and hold for me, which they did. The Admiral was theperfect choice for our Friday night friends dinner. The Admiral is definitely one of the hidden gems in North Carolina! If you go to Asheville, I higly recommend you to book a... place in this fabulous restaurant! Special Tip: if you are 2 people, book two seats at the bar and let Matt guide you throughtheir menu while making extraordinary good cocktails! Must-try: if they have the Sweetbread (veal pancreas, not to be confusedwith bread) on their menu, you'll definitely have to try it! All in all, every dish was savoury and almost paired toperfection! It is one of my greatest joys in life to experience establishments like The Admiral. You can tell upon walking through the first... door that time, energy, thought, and creativity went into every small detail to make this restaurant what it is. The staff isknowledgeable, kind, courteous, and timely. The food.. oh the food. My first time having steak tartare. It was phenomenal. Somany satisfying textures and flavors on one plate. My girlfriend and I always split food when we go out which is why we endedup having two appetizers and three entrees as a party of two. I got the gnocchi dish which was unfortunately just over the lineof too salty. It was just a pinch too much in the broth. I appreciate the heavy hand though because all too often I eat underseasoned food and pay a hefty price for it. The gnocchi itself was flawless.
