Not my favorite spot is this super cool town. The nachos were less than thrilling just a tiny big of cheese on 2 chips and some... black beans. My shredded bee tacos were good and spicy. The Mexican street corn never showed and when it did it was a puddle ofwater like it came from a a can. I thought they cut it from the cob and it was not good at all. Our waitress was nice but neverchecked in us and when I asked her for straws we never got them. The place was empty when we showed up so they really should thave been and issue of service. Bummed wouldn’t return not worth the price. Read more

I have been wanting to dine here for about a year. I’ve read so many great reviews and even heard good things from friends... about this place. Unfortunately that was not my experience. My son and I went here for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant wasfairly empty, but the hostess wanted to sit us on top of one of the only other occupied tables. Thankfully she accommodated ourrequest to move down a bit. We ordered chips with salsa, bean dip, and queso. For $10 we were served a small basket of chips and the 3 tiny dips. Turned out the chips were the highlight of the entire meal. Both the queso and bean dip were weirdlychunky. The salsa was decent, but had a sweet after taste that I found off putting. We ordered street tacos with steak as theprotein, and the jalapeño manchego hush puppies. I have never eaten such bone dry food! It was so dry I had take sips of waterto swallow it. Even with the bland creama it was dry. Not only was it dry but it was nearly flavorless. I could taste the redonion and cilantro but the the meat clearly wasn’t seasoned in any way. A pinch of salt would have done that taco a world ofgood. Perhaps we went on an off day. For $50 for some chips and 4 tiny tacos, and 3 hush puppies I am not sure I want to goback to find out. This review is only for drinks. We popped in after the HardLox festival down on Pack Square. It was a beautiful day and the... wine bar next door wasn't open yet. Rather than call it a day we went into Mountain Madre, entering through the entrance to theLEFT of the front patio, and grabbed a table on the front patio. It's a PRIME people watching perch. If people watching isn'tyour thing OR you've brought a dog, they've got outdoor seating in the back, too From our perch at the far right table, we gotto help others make it inside the restaurant. There's a sign above that end table that causes a lot of confusion for where toenter. We ordered margaritas. Our waitress and the bartender checked in on us and were very sweet. My friend got the one withKALE like a weirdo but loved it. I got the Market Margarita. Both were delicious and well balanced. We ordered chips and salsa.Unless I'm mistaken the tortilla chips were freshly fried - and very tasty. Not many places I've visited in Asheville servefresh chips. The waitress was super patient with us and let us hang out forever. Based on this experience I would totally goback to try the food. Read more

The family ate dinner here one evening. The weather was gorgeous so we got to eat outside on the back terrace and it was... amazing. The service was very good. The menu was small for a Mexican restaurant but you get the sense this is so they can focuson making each dish shine. I had a chimichanga that was light and tangy and delicious, so different from the heavier, friedversions I've had elsewhere. Even the queso tasted like real cheese. A definite win. Read more

What an awesome, elegant restaurant. Very laid back vibes, well decorated, awesome staff. Haley was our server and made us... feel right at home. We also got to meet Jasmine who was a real gem. Made sure all of our needs were met. They both made greatrecommendations. This restaurant is a little higher priced but you get a lot for your money. We had the chimichanga and amargaritas. Great place for margaritas and mescal flights. Highly recommend! Read more

Excellent Service and food. I would most definitely return here. I had my very first margaritas (age 55..lol) it was... outrageously delicious. Apparently they make them; "very differently from the norm" Very casual, relaxed and comfortablerestaurant. Outside was the choice and it was great. Photos are of their pretty water bottles. LOL I thought they were pretty. Read more
