Reviews for Miyako House in Asheville, NC

Let me start by saying i lived in Seattle for a long time. My level of standards reviewing and rating sushi is high. And I’ve... reviewed over 200 restaurant. When you walk in, the place looks like a generic Japanese restaurant by the decor but felt veryclean. Staff was friendly and I had no issues ordering quick and promptly. I was given soup on the house and the miso soup wassome of the finer I’ve tried. Very sweet and the green onions and tofu was fresh. As for the main course I ordered fish and atempura roll. The tuna was a bit expensive but all the cuts of fish were of higher standard and cut thick. I would easily rankthe fish among mid level Seattle and west coast fare. The shrimp tempura was small and nothing to write home about but the fishitself more than made up for that. Limited menu for sushi because this is the East inland coast and the nearest ocean is milesaway so I can’t complain. Overall I really enjoyed my food and look forward to coming back. Read more

Ate here this afternoon. We were the only people dining in. The sushi was FANTASTIC!! Great service and we received a tasty soup... (by surprise) while we were waiting on our sushi. The sushi was fresh and inventive, great flavor, great presentation. I reallycan't say more than this was the best sushi we have had anywhere in this area. Will absolutely go back. Read more

Amazing sushi! Sashimi was so fresh it melts in your mouth! Got the bagel roll which was deep fried (one of our favorites).... Dancing eel roll was my favorite. Pricing was average. As you can see with just the two of us, we order about 8 rolls and thensome. Lolol Hostess was very nice and the place overall good atmosphere. Definitely coming again Read more

We found this place by local recommendation. That person would be a close personal friend if I had ever seen them again. This... place is outstanding. We eat sushi in every town we are able. Asheville is now strictly miyako. The owners are part of the dailyoperation and it shows. They are what sushi should be. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The people are great. Therestaurant is impeccably kept. The food on a 1 to 10 is a solid 13! Do this if you don't do anything else in Asheville.Amazing!!! Read more
