Love this place. Lots of fresh greens and ingredients. I loved my bowl. The appetizers were actually generous in portions they... could be main courses. I took one star off because my mushroom shawarma was very salty. Also the cauliflower in the taco werevery salty as well. I feel like it defeats the purpose of having healthy meals if the sodium is so high. And I personally don'tlike salty foods. That could just be me. The fries, lassi, and my bowl was very delicious. Where do I begin.. Well, the story starts over 25+ years ago with my first visit to Asheville. I was mostly vegetarian and was... looking for a place to dine. On asking the front desk person at our hotel I was given the name and location of Laughing Seedand proceeded to head over. I was blown away, the vibe was awesome, the food was absolutely amazinballz and the service beyondexceptional. Fast forward 25+ years and I can say, without a doubt, they are still hitting one of the top restaurants inAsheville for me every time I visit. I have never, ever had anything below level of service, quality of food or enjoyment ofthe ambiance than we did on my first visit. As a long time restaurant manager/server/bartender I know how hard it is to keepthe standard that solid, but they have and we apricate it every time we go. I always take friends and family when they come totown with the promise "it's vegan/vegetarian that isn't vegan/vegetarian!" and it's not. I have cooked vegan/vegetarian forever and while I can hit fantastic flavor, texture and taste almost every time, these guys never miss the mark. Their fauxitems are of such high quality & taste that my meat eating friends are always blown away by how good it is, and for any andevery vegetarian/vegan I would say this is the bench mark for food. Their food is matched by amazing service. Over the years Ihave (again) never had a rough service experience. They have always been professional, kind, thoughtful, efficient & fun. Eachhas been beyond welcoming and really made me feel at home. This is a direct reflection of management, and while I have nevermeet the owner or manager, I will say they must take great care of their staff as I know that is how you have such greatpeople. My husband & I tried the Laughing Seed for the first time yesterday and it was DELICIOUS! We sat on the patio and loved the... atmosphere. Staff was friendly & attentive. And the food was incredible. I ordered the curry entree and my husband order thetostada salad. Both were so yummy! Read more
My partner and I have been eating here for over 25 years ! Its always delicious and the atmosphere is nice whether you eat... outside or in. The entrees are vegan or vegetarian. Most recently we met friends and sat outside at a sidewalk table w/umbrella. Service was prompt and our waitperson was friendly and helpful. The location on Wall St is good too - close to theparking garage and nice to take a stroll after dinner. I highly recommend Laughing Seed. Read more

I stopped in during my travels to the area. Sat up at the bar and ordered the lotus grain bowl, which had a ton of flavor and... was very filling! I wasn't a fan of the tofu (personal preference) but aside from that one bite, absolutely would order again inthe future! Friendly staff, delicious food, highly recommend. Read more
