I had a wonderful experience here in 2020. However, last night I came.back with my out-of-state family and waited forever to be... seated. Three female staff members saw us waiting and never came over to seat us. The restaurant was not busy at all and staffcompletely ignored us. We ended up leaving after waiting about 15 minutes and had dinner at Papa's & Beers instead. I highlyrecommend Papa & Beer Mexican food; it was fantastic! Clean, delicious and the staff was great. I won't ever be returning toFatz in Asheville again due to the rude staff. Now I understand why multiple locations of this chain have closed. Read more

First, I want to thank our server Hannah for doing the best she could with what she was given to work with. She was empathetic,... caring and did her best to help make our experience better... The challenges that we faced were that the food that was providedto her to present to our table was cool, not warm, not hot. It looked like leftovers that were in the fridge and plopped intoside dishes and sent out. Those sides were the baked beans, mac and cheese, and the loaded mashed potatoes. One guest at ourtable ordered the "all you can eat" ribs special, and although requested more ribs, they didn't come while we were eating ourmeals. The restaurant had only a handful of tables filled, that I could see. Service was slow, we think, because the kitchenwas slow... The quality of the food given was less than average and the prices were very high for the quality of what wasgiven. One example of that is that the "loaded potato soup" had one cube of potato and was so watery that it wouldn't stay onthe teaspoon that was provided, so if it was to be consumed it would have to be sipped from the bowl. We are sympathetic to theidea that they may have been short staffed in the kitchen. However, it doesn't excuse the quality and condition of the foodthat was sent out. I haven't been here for a number of years, as I do not live nearby to this restaurant, but even at that Iwould not go out of my way to go back. Wish our experience was better so I could recommend.... Trying to be fair about my experience up here. Very few staff for the afternoon rush so things were slow. The fryers we're... initially down when my wife and I arrived they told us but once seated (which took about 10 minutes) they were back running. Wewaited about 25 min after ordering before the food got to us. I did order the special for Thursday (all you can eat ribs). Very small racks and half rack portions. Fries were very fresh though. Let the waitress know I'd def need more ribs and shedid put in the next 2 for me but still had to wait 15 min before they brought them. Food was good and the price was fair. Thankful to have lunch with my wife so the atmosphere was good too. So my only complaints are the limited staff at lunch andthe slowness of food from the kitchen. Read more

Wow! Mrs. Terry and Mrs. Julie displayed exceptional customer service. We were at a previous restaurant and told our wait time... will be 35min- at the hour mark we checked in and they still did not have our table ready (party of 8). My spouse called Fatzand spoke to Mrs. Julie and she told us to come on over. When we arrived the table was already setup and we were greeted with asmile! Then come Mrs. Terry (our waitress)- very professional and kind. She was very attentive and kept checking on us. Everyoneorder was perfect. The food was great. These two ladies really need to be recognize because customer service like this is hardto find. But we were truly blessed to have these two ladies attend to us. On our way back home, we plan on stopping back by.Thank you both for your service and kudos to Fatz! Read more

We had high hopes as this restaurant was billed as down home country cooking. However, our dishes were disappointing. The salmon... was very overcooked and dry and the rice must have been plated and set under a heat lamp as it was a mushy glob. My husband?sonion rings were clearly over cooked, as was the chicken fried steak. On the positive, the appetizer of tater tots and friessmothered with Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese and topped with bacon and chives was very good. The peach cobbler had firmpieces of peach in a rich sauce and topped with ice cream. The service was extremely slow, even though there were few diners. The bill for appetizer, two entries, one dessert and two drinks was $78 with 20% tip. Read more

I?m disappointed. First, the beer was expired. The food was cold. Then, we ordered an apple cobbler SKILLET and when it came out... there were like 15 little apple slices in it. It didn?t even fill up the skillet. Also, it was just the apple slices, no crustor anything you would expect to be in an apple cobbler skillet. The apples were also cold and kind of hard. Read more

I took my grandson's Nana for her birthday dessert. She got a brownie first and it was not done. The waitress said that is how... they come. She showed the waitress that it was not gooie but it was not fully cooked. She apologized and offered to get hersomething else. She asked for the peach coobler. We were all speechless when she brought it to the table. It looked like dogfood. You can see from the picture that does not in anyway resemble peach cobbler. It was absolutely awful. We were verydisappointed and knowing there were 4 of us at the table and noone was pleased with their dessert we were given the bill withoutthe waitress offering to get management. I could have raised a stink but just paid the bill, took a picture and vowed not to goback. That was the worse dessert I ever had and I have had many from numerous restaurants in numerous states and numerouscountries. I gave it one star because it would not allow me to give it zero. I went to Fatz for the first time on the recommendation of the lady at the front desk of my hotel. The menu looked very good and... I was wicked hungry after driving most of the day. Ordered everything just fine. Went to get it. Again, fine. Get it back to myhotel room?.found they had not included utensils or napkins. Ok fine. I had gotten finger food anyhow. I opened the food ( I gotthe bourbon wing/calabash chicken combo) to find it looked literally thrown together. I specifically got that entree to try twoof their ?signature? dishes. I can?t tell you if calabash chicken comes with sauce on it or not. Everything was covered insauce. The wings themselves were so hard in places that they were inedible. The bread nuggets they sent were barely wrapped(again just thrown together) and were so bland. I didn?t bother. I can?t say how my salad was since it?s not really somethingyou can eat with your hands. Very disappointing. Especially since their menu is something my husband would enjoy as well andthat honestly is rare for us. Read more
