Reviews for Early Girl Eatery in Asheville, NC
Went there on a Saturday morning at 10:30 AM and it was about a 20 minute wait. The food was delicious. The server was friendly... and attentive. They had a special jam that was great on the biscuit. Many vegetarian and vegan options available as well. Highlyrecommend Read more
This spot is one of the classic, must try spots in Asheville. My husband and I shared: - Bow to the King - Yam Scram The Yam... Scram was absolutely delicious. I usually prefer my egg yolks to be runny, not scrambled, but I can definitely say this is thebest scramble I've ever had. The Bow to the King was also good. I'm not a big chicken and waffles person because I feel likethey're two different dishes that don't really integrate together to form a cohesive dish. That's how I felt about this too.Individually, everything tasted great though. I really wanted to try the Porky Breakfast Bowl, but they were out of pulled porkwhen we went. Next time! Read more
I am a highly sensitive celiac and I ate their gluten free breakfast options with no contamination issues. However, they were... kind of gross. The sausage was good, but the fries, toast, and grits were deeply disappointing. The gluten free bread was barelytoasted and extremely dry. The fries managed to be burnt and soggy at the same time, and completely flavorless. The grits wereentirely flavorless until I doused them in salt and pepper, which did help. My mom?s fried chicken sandwich was great though(gluten included). I personally would not eat here again. In addition, this location has the most disgusting, dilapidatedbathroom I have seen in all of Asheville. The best part of the meal was the cute teapot that came with my tea. Absolutelyprecious. Early Girl Eatery has some good ideas but the execution was lacking. My "Pulled Pork" sandwich was more shredded than pulled;... no chunks of meat that I would expect. Also, it was swimming in sauce. The sauce had a good flavor but I would like to havetasted the pork as well. The vegetable medley was better; nice variety of veggies. It was a bit oily but I enjoyed it. Jan'ssalad was better; lots of fresh greens with nuts, feta cheese etc. The grilled chicken on it was not so good; overcooked (aheadof time I think, and warmed up for serving), it was dry and had little flavor. Service was excellent and the dining room wasvery clean. Bathroom was not. Read more
Fantastic! Ordered their bow to the king plate and holy cow it was savory and sweet tied into a perfect bow. Plus the whipped... cream really was the cherry on top. Plus the chicken biscuit was done perfect. Can't wait to visit again soon. Read more
Very good breakfast spot. Shorter than usual wait time for a breakfast place in Asheville on the weekends. Staff was friendly... and great. Food was awesome. Great vegetarian options, biscuits and vegan gravy were a great side, and my breakfast bowl wasgreat. They claim to be a farm to table place, and that is believable based on the fresh ingredients and the list of local farmsand vendors they utilize. I decided to try the chocolate oat milk because I've never had such a thing, and was super bummed itwas a tiny glass, maybe 2.5" tall and a few ounces. Would have skipped if I knew the quantity for the price. All in all, highlyrecommend. Expect to spend $20-25 per person with a main meal, side and drink, before tip. Read more
Amazing food! The Charleston Chicken Biscuit is my absolute favorite. It is so luscious, creamy, rich, and decadent. It hits all... of the savory notes you want out of a chicken biscuit, but it has they wonderful crunchiness that you want out of fresh friedchicken. Smothered with delicious gravy. Our waiter Caleb was awesome! Also check out the Mimosas definitely worth the extra fewdollars! Read more
Really good breakfast spot near a bunch of shopping boutiques. Wait wasn?t long, abt 15min to be seated. And once seated the... friendly waitress came over right away and took our orders. I tried the mimosa flight and the porky bowl. Both so delicious. Read more
