The service was a little slow; however, the food made up for it. Large portions and the samosas were great. This isn't the... restaurants fault, but the table by us was extremely loud and kept going in and out of the building. I'd suggest ordering aheadif you're looking for something quick. Read more

ETA: This was legitimately my favorite restaurant in town and I ate here at least once a week. BUT the last two times I have... been there literally nobody has worn a mask including the servers. I have had covid twice and even with a vaccine it's still avery bad time, and I cannot afford to be out of work right now. I don't think I can come back here until they take theircustomers health more seriously. I'm really sad about this. I'm seeing now that many people have gotten food poisoning here.I'm not surprised that they do not care about their customer base and I'm sad that Asheville doesn't have anything better tooffer. FINALLY. No pretense, no awkward hippie fusion. Just a real, authentic, delicious hole in the wall. I've lived here 10years and I've never had authentic Indian food here before. Strangely I recommend anything but the biryani... It is underseasoned and they use parboiled rice and I guess Pakistani biryani is different than Hyderabadi biryani, but it is much moreboring nothing but meat and rice, even the veg version is mostly starchy veg no nuts or raisins or texture. Anyway, I'm nevergetting Indian food anywhere else in Asheville. And I work downtown right next to Chai Pani Read more

The food here was delicious and I would definitely recommend it. I got the Vegetable Korma and a paneer side, it was superb. The... dine-in experience was made uncomfortable by a server who was bickering with other employees and at one point even shouted at usover a mistake she made. It turned out fine, but I hope they can figure out what is going on with the server because it was notpleasant to be there. Read more

Cheese naan was ammmmazing! The butter chicken was some of the best (besides a friends homemade recipe)I have had since being... back from Japan. I love how you can control the spice level AND when you order a spicy level it actually has some flavorful heatto it. Wish I would have known about this place before going to +10 restaurants in downtown that were ?trending/ must try? butwere very underwhelming if not horrible. It?s THAT good food that you only order one meal from because your spouse said theywere ?not hungry.? However, when you come home to eat your food, they see and smell your food and keep eating your food eventhough they were not hungry. Read more

An old pizza parlor transformed! Excellent Punjabi / Lahori sauces. Best samosa ever in the States. Indian restaurants in the... States behave now more and more like Chinese ... modifying their recipes w sugar and cream for American tastes. Not here!Authentic Pakistani Punjabi food. I grew up in Pakistan. I'm still looking for an authentic Sindhi restaurant. We'll return toBiryani Express often. Read more
