Downtown Asheville isn't that big so to say a restaurant is right in the middle of downtown would pretty much apply to any... restaurant there...that having been said most locals I spoke with on my visit to Asheville hadn't heard of the place. It wasabout a 5-minute walk from our hotel (The tallest building in Downtown, Asheville) and well worth a visit. If you're looking forEthiopian food (either because you've had it and like it, or want a new experience) it's the only game in town and it serves upthe game well. My wife and I shared the Vegetarian Messob which, to her delight, also was gluten-free. It was filling with avariety of standard Ethiopian flavors all scoopable and eatable on the injera bread it came with. (Don't look for silverware inan Ethiopian restaurant.) My wife also enjoyed the spiced tea she got (sans the tea...just the spices.) Having had Ethiopianfood a handful of times at restaurants in the "Little Ethiopia" area of Los Angeles where I live, I'd say Addissae holds its ownin a casual environment that's as slightly off the beaten path of downtown Asheville as one can be. Dude I can't say enough about the food here! I've been everywhere from the west coast to the east and this is totally my... favorite Ethiopian place by far. If you've never had Ethiopian, you won't regret eating here! And if you have, come try thisplace out! I got the Tibbs and they were freaking amazing, I'll probably order it every time lol. Read more

Service: 10/10 Really nice people Cleanliness: 10/10 Very clean and smelled sanitary Staff: 10/10 Our waiter was very nice,... quick and professional Atmosphere: 10/10 Very well decorated and designed Busy: 6/10 It was only a little busy Value:10/10 Compared to other Ethiopian restaurants here in the US, this one was more reasonably priced Overall: 10/10 I definitelyrecommend this place, it was so good, I got the same thing we ate as a to-go order, it's so nice, I bought it twice. Side note, the parking lot out back of this place charges you to park which is disgusting. We already get taxed, fined, and fee'd to death, now the parking lot owner wants to charge us for existing. This is an excellent Ethiopian restaurant serving freshly prepared food so be patient. You will wait a bit for your food but it... will be worth it. They do not serve alcohol and do not allow BYOB. The Ethiopian iced tea is delicious. The aroma that hits youas you enter is amazing. We ate family style ordering the Addissae Meat Missob. Service is pleasant and excellent. Read more
