Oxus7 is an amazing Turkish restaurant in the Ashburn, Virginia area. This is the restaurant to visit whether you have enjoyed... Turkish food in the past or have never tried Turkish food. We visited on a Thursday for lunch. The welcoming staff immediatelymade us feel right at home. Your meal starts with homemade flatbread and spiced olive oil for dipping. The bread is amazing andunlike other Mediterranean restaurants. It is a risen bread instead of a flat pita. It provided the perfect vehicle for soakingup extra sauce during our meal. We ordered both pide options. One with meat and one with vegetables. The pide were hot andfragrant in addition to delicious. We also ordered the sigara borek. The crisp pastry exterior filled with hot cheese wasdelicious. For the main course we ordered manti and the tavuk chicken sis wrap. Both were delicious. The manti?s delicate spicedbeef filled dumplings swimming in a buttery garlic yogurt sauce were the highlight. After some Turkish coffee we were ready toface the rest of our day. Had hundreds of reviews, mostly for restaurants that I visit on weekly basis or when I travel. This was my first visit... here Location is not so hard to find. Clean place and I like the design The service and server was less than average. I orderedsomething and she didn't get it, i asked and requested not to include sumac in the food and she added it to the onion in 2plates and the third order was all over with sumac! When a Resturant doesn't get such allergy Warning as this seriously !Then they have to work in their skills ! This is important ! Changing an order also is a deal breaker In general ! The food wasso average and don't reflect the rich Turkish food The menu is so limited and kids meals is only one option ! Seriously ! Oneoption and this is on Saturday ! We've known about Oxus7 before they moved to Ashburn from their old location in Sterling, but didn't have a chance to enjoy... their offerings back then. We were pleased to learn that they moved closer to our neighborhood, and what a great addition to theOld Ashburn area! First of all, the food and service are top notch. We've had Turkish cuisine elsewhere before, and dare I saythis may be the best we've had without having to travel to Türkiye. Not only is it beautifully presented, but it tastes evenbetter. We had the Iskender and Adana kebab along with hummus, baklava for dessert, and some Turkish tea and coffee. The decoris reminiscent of a hip, modern industrial style bistro with an amazing mural on one of the walls, which is fitting for itslocation here in Ashburn. Only downside to our experience was that there were some items we wanted to order that were notavailable that day, such as the ayran and kunefe, which isn't a big deal as what we ended up with was spectacular anyway. My husband and I went to dinner today. I ordered two dishes. While I was eating something felt wired to chew on with a texture... of a piece of paper. And I took it out and tired to check it and obliviously it was paper. I complained to them and the waitertook our bowl. After a while, female owner came and she said it?s not paper, this is fat. I explained to her that it felt like apaper and really hard to chew. But she kept calling it fat. She repeatedly said it was fat, not paper. I have nothing to say.She asked us if you want a new food or same food again. And we got the same dish again. The second time while eating I felt thesame texture in my mouth again. THERE WAS PAPER IN THE FOOD AGAIN. What kind of ?FAT? like that? We couldn?t finish the foodsand left them and we paid the bill and left. If she would have admitted it, we might have felt not as bad. What's good? The mixed grill was delicious; the chicken kebab was outstanding. The hummus was not bad, just don't expect it to... taste like the one you get at a Greek restaurant. There were items in the mezze platter that we did not enjoy as much. Theservice was great, though. Read more
