Trust me, I am a chef myself and used to own a Nepali restaurant in woodbridge, I am surprised how they have taken Nepali food... to another level. Amazing presentation, authentic taste, friendly environment and the drinks were top level.\nI bet you can?tget anything close to this for the price all over DC metro area.\nThis is my go to place from now on!\nDefinitely recommend ifyou?re looking for Nepali food. I am reviewing a restaurant after a long time. As a matter of fact, this is my first official review of 2022, and I am glad it... happened to be of ?Himalayan Wild Yak? which had been on my radar since it opened its door six months ago. The restaurant wassuper clean and decorated appropriately to the region that the food was representative of. Our server Prince was nice andattentive. Also, we had a wonderful conversation with the food runner (sorry! I forgot to ask her name) who was so sweet andcaring! We were also fortunate to meet and take pictures with owners/chefs Keshab & Tuk. All the staff really made this the bestexperience.\n\nDiving into the food?We got some complimentary sel-roti (deep-fried rice flour bread) and achar (radish pickle)as soon as we were seated. We finished that in no time. LOL. Literally, this restaurant serves all possible meat combinations onthe table including chicken, pork, boar, wild buffalo, goat, and yak. We tried each of the meat items, and I was blown away byeach one. The food was spicy, flavorful, and plentiful. Each item had its own unique taste and was packed with flavors.\n-Yakmomos were juicy and well complimented by their signature tomato-based sauce\n-Marinated wild boar was beautifully presented &it was equally delicious\n-Honey glazed pork belly & buffalo chilli were my Mrs. favorites\n-Sukuti sadheko (marinated dry goatmeat) just melted in my mouth (it was that good!!!)\n-Bhutan (goat intestines) was unique & the puffed rice served with itglowed the taste of this dish.\nLast but not the least, their ?Biryani for Two? was the star of the show for me. Chef Tukbrought the hot steaming biryani pot to the table and evenly mixed the dish for us right at the table. I gotta admit the biryaniwas on fire. The portion was huge. That was easily a biryani pot that can feed at least 4 people in my opinion. I am not a bigfan of Biryanis in general, but I have to say this one simply won my heart. It was packed with flavors, bu Read more
I made a trip over the river to check this place out. The service was spot on and very attentive. The food came out quickly. I... ordered the yak momo and medium-rare yak. These were not considered \"main course\" items so it does not come with rice but myserver was more than happy to give me a bowl (seemed like two, hey, I love rice and I need it for training). I felt taken careof. Read more
We had a very great experience at the Himalayan wild yak! The waiter who we believed to be the owner was very friendly and... helpful with food recommendations. We had the Grilled Yak what was very unique in flavor in a good way and highly recommend it,chicken pickle once again very unique in flavor in a good way with a little bit of heat and the Nepali set meal what was onceagain very delicious! We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a great food experience! Read more

Excellent delicious Food and superlative service. We could taste the subtle differences from the regular Indian food. Freshly... made and the waiter was most attentive.\n\nWe had the duck fried rice, which was light and subtle. The butter chicken was unlikeany that we have ever tried, different but good. The breads were all freshly made and buttery.\n\nThe waitstaff is very polite, friendly and warm. Can\'t wait to go back to try more dishes. Read more
Love love love. From the service to the food, everything is 5 stars. For everyone that doesn?t know the cuisine, this really is... an Indian restaurant. The quality is super high and the price is really reasonable. I am so glad we came here - and peopleshould really come and experience it as it?s quite unique in the area. I can?t say I?m a fan of the Yak but the traditional lambn goat was really great. Read more
What a lovely and unique restaurant! The outdoor seating was well-designed, the food was outstanding, and the service was... impeccable. I\'d never eaten yak before ( and I bet you haven\'t either!) but it was so tender and flavorful. The roastedBrussels sprouts were cooked perfectly and were a great side dish. Everything was delicious (yummy lamb curry) but the yak wasthe most memorable. A perfect evening! Read more
