We chose Oak Mill Bakery for our wedding and rehearsal cakes based on the recommendation of my husband's sister who used them 10... years ago. We were so happy with our choice. Bill was our main contact and was very helpful and patient as we spent over an hourtasting the many delicious options and discussing prices during our cake tasting. I absolutely love their cakes- cannot go wrong with them doesn?t matter what kind it is. Cakes are very light and not too sweet.... Melts in your mouth. I ordered chocolate mouse and it was so good! I am giving four star only for their customer service - theycan do better. Read more
Don't order eggless from them! We ordered a simple eggless cake from here for a party and the taste of it was 2/5 stars. I had... high expectations knowing the reviews and the presentation but taste was eeeh. I would say there are better options out therefor eggless crowd especially fact that they even charge extra for eggless ones. I bet their cake with eggs are probably betterbut that's not an option for us. Read more
Not fit to sell Birthday Cakes.The lady at the counter had a big scorn on her face. Was so lazy that did not move from her... position and wanted me to describe the cake to tell me what its ingredients were. She would be fired in most of the places Iknow, except at funeral parlours. Read more
We worked with Oak Mill Bakery for our wedding cake, and from start to finish, it was a great experience! For our original... tasting, we met with Basia at their Arlington Heights location in March 2020. The appointment was fun and productive?we spentour time viewing their look-book of designs, discussing photos we brought in as examples of our vision, and, of course, tastingseveral combinations of cake and frosting. They kindly served us water and tea alongside our samples. At the end, we elected togo with a 3-tiered vanilla cake with vanilla custard filling and cascading flowers. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we pushed ourevent all the way to 2022, which Basia was able to accommodate. The day of our wedding, the cake looked absolutely beautiful! Iwas in awe when I saw it for the first time walking into our reception hall, and I had to take a moment before cake cuttingsimply to admire it! It was delicious, and we received many compliments from our guests following the event. We?ve visited OakMill on separate occasions simply to try their other desserts. Definitely not recommend! Customer Service is horrible, never see manager can talk like that for customers. It used to be great... place but not anymore. We order birthday cake and it was NOT fresh at all. We always had pear cake , sometimes was better,sometimes not but never has stinky lady fingers and old sponge cake. We packaged cake, call ahead with complain because it wasright before 4th of July. We returned cake to store at Tuesday after holidays and they took it from us and tell us they need tosent it to place where they doing it and baker need to taste it and decided about refund. They didn't call, I spoke with rude,ridiculous manager named Daniele and she refused our money back. It's ridiculous situation, it's worst customer service ever andI was my last time with Oak Mill Bakery for sure. Read more
Oak Mill Bakery has a number of beautiful wedding cakes on display at their bakery in Arlington Heights, and we started working... with Bill there. The first step was to arrange a tasting. We had two of our close friends join us for a cake tasting. For anhour, we leafed through books of cake designs, and tasted various cakes and frostings. At the end we had decided on our cakedesign, and flavors. It was a very enjoyable experience. We ordered the cake, and provided our own topper before the wedding.The cake was absolutely beautiful, and tasted delicious. I receive numerous compliments from guests about the cake. It looked,and tasted wonderful. I recommend Oak Mill Bakery without any hesitation. Read more
The worst bakery ever! If I could give it 0 star I would. Staff is super unfriendly and inflexible. They absolutely don?t care... about the customers. They send them to websites to order while you are at the location! Arlington Heights branch especially.This is not the first time this has happened. The quality has significantly decreased and their corporate is an absolute joke!Go somewhere else if you are looking for a custom cake or want a nice service. Read more
