Urban Thai is a lovely small restaurant with delicious food and quick, friendly service. I went on a Wednesday night at about... 6:30 pm and it was not crowded, but there were several tables filled, both inside and outside in the covered patio area. Thestaff took m order quickly, double checking to make sure they got it right. My food came very fast; I had my appetizer within 5minutes of ordering and my entrée within 10 minutes. I had a tom kha martini, which was quite good and garnished with a chili,the pork and shrimp dumplings, and the butternut squash and tofu in red curry. Everything was delicious and the portions were agood size for me; I couldn't quite finish all the rice that came with my entrée--I was just a little too full. The red currywas mildly spicy, so be aware that at Urban Thai, mildly spicy does still mean there's going to be a little bit of a burn. Iwould definitely recommend Urban Thai to anyone who is looking for Thai food for lunch or dinner, and I will probably come backif I'm in the area again. Read more
There are Several restaurants on 23rd St and the whole block sort of serves as a ?buffer? between the downtown buildings and a... gorgeous little neighborhood but we hit Urban Thai and it was marvelous! The food was delish and as It was a beautiful evening,we sat outside! It?s adorable and the service was friendly and fast! We had drunken noodles & Pad Thai?????? and we wanted themspicy so be careful what you ask for! Large portions so you can take some home but we didn?t really like the chicken satay app- it was a bit dry. They have some cute crafty cocktails- we had the Japanese Street Car - soo good! I stopped by Urban Thai with a friend after a photo shot in Crystal City. I enjoyed myself. I brought my dog along as well so we... ate outside. The service was good but it took a a while to for our food to get to us (only means that they took the time toprepare it). I was definitely satisfied after this meal. The option was good.
