Reviews for TNR Cafe in Arlington, VA
My wife wanted shrimps and broccoli so we decided to order Chinese after a long long while in Arlington. We called in an order... to TNR for pick-up and then waited while there was a line for carry-out. I had to order a separate order for Bok Choy and it tooJenny a few minutes to understand what I was saying?seemed flustered by orders coming in. Looked nice inside. Finally order cameto the front and I had been saying we needed to pay and flustered Jenny finally figured that out too. Back at my cousin?s housewe spread the food all out. KongPao Chicken, lo mein veg, sauteed shrimp broccoli, crab Rangoon (they didn?t tell us how manypieces?only 2 comes) and spring rolls. Food was decent but not great. For the same items, Ashburn would have cost 35% less. Read more
First time visiting this place even though been living in the area for years. Food - good Chinese food. It?s more family style... sharing in my boyfriend and I?s opinion. Big portions in my opinion. It was tasty but a bit pricey though. Decor/vibe -surprisingly very nice inside and modern vibe. Service- excellent! Loved how anyone would wait on you. They served lemon water -big points for me being a water fan, lol. I?ll need to go again to try other dishes to be sure on the rating but yeah I wouldrecommend you experience this restaurant. tl;dr: Delicious and authentic beef stew noodle soup in a location with a classy date night aesthetic and atmosphere. I am going... back to try the other foods they have! Beef Stew Noodle Soup - 5/5: The soup is bursting with umami and the beef is perfectlytender without completely falling apart! Reminds me of soup my grandmother would make me (which is the highest praise). I wantto try the other foods, but the beef stew noodle soup is just sooo good! Decor - 4/5: Nice and clean decor that reminds me ofrestaurants in Beijing. The ambiance was date night vibes! Not sure if this was also a place to study though because they alsohave a cafe with baked goods, coffee, and tea. More restaurant vibes than cafe vibes where people congregate. Bathrooms - 4/5:2 binary single stalled restrooms that are ADA friendly. Read more
Best Chinese food Ive ever had in the US. Restaurant was very clean with a nice atmosphere. Walnut shrimps, chicken casserole,... double pork and sweet sour pork were all to die for (especially the walnut shrimp). Food was so good I had to come back againthe next day :-) Read more
The came here for Sunday lunch without a reservation, but we got seated immediately without any waiting. Both the fried rice and... fried rice noodle were good although the fried rice noodle was not exactly the Taiwanese style I was hoping for. The 1/2 roastedduck was crispy. Basil eggplant was standard. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here and will come back whenever coming to thisarea. Street parking in nearby areas was not bad around noon on Sunday. Read more

Overall my experience was pretty good. I had previously gotten takeout and wasn't really a big fan. However, I decided to give... this restaurant another chance with dine-in, and the atmosphere is cozy and modern. My wife got the Thai Tea Bubble Tea andloved it! The food is about the same as when I ordered takeout. It had good flavor, but I was a little disappointed that thewonton soup had just two wontons. My wife and I also ordered the General Tso's Chicken and the Garlic Eggplant. The chicken wasvery good, and the portion size in the eggplant was huge. It did seem they were understaffed, since it was a little hard to getthe waitress' attention or get refills on our drinks. Read more
