This place is AMAZING! For me this was the best BBQ food I’ve ever have so far in this area (I’ve never been to TX or any... other BBQ famous states, so my review is based on other BBQ places in the area) We order the meat sampler that includedbrisket, pulled pork and ribs. With 2 sides, collard greens and Brussels sprouts. Flavors for everything was realllllly good. Iwouldn’t get the Brussels sprouts next time just preference. Meal value is perfect, there’s A LOT of food, coming from afoodie person. Service was great, so friendly and on point. Really nice indoor and outdoor ambiance. We’re definitely comingback here again with friends and family. Totally recommend! Read more
Absolutely fantastic. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Let's start off with the service. Very good, not extremely... superb, but probably 8/10. The appetizer(Jacks Tacos) were terrific. The only problem, was that it came out with our entrees, and the sever out it in front of me. This was a problem, as I forgot what I ordered, so late the entire thing before my daddecided to tell me that it was the appetizer that I was eating. Therefore, I had to eat an appetizer, and an entree, and prettymuch 2 deserts. Fun. I didn't complain though, as the tacos were stupendous. Juicy meat, and great flavor. The huevos rancheroswere even better. I ate these in probably 5 minutes(because I was hungry, but mostly because they were great"). I tried theburrito bañado (my dads entree), and that was super good as well. Both deserts were very good, but the banana pudding was veryheavy, and not AS banana-y as I would have liked. Great experience, and everyone should go here at least once. Read more
Honestly thought I'd enjoy this place a lot more, but was surely disappointed as the result. I heard a lot of great reviews... about this place so I decided to check this place out for lunch with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. Both my friend and I wereexcited about trying out the BBQ, but didn't enjoy it as much as we thought. The Food: I went with the brisket, sausage links, pulled pork and a side of a small Mac n cheese. To start, I had some deviled eggs which were pretty good. The flavor was thereand I had no complaints. As for the main entrees, the brisket was dry. There wasn't one moist brisket on my plate and theseasoning/char was overtly seasoned and salty. I had some BBQ sauce with the meats, and that didn't help much with the tasteeither. However, the sausage links and pulled pork were good. The links were snappy and the pulled pork was nice and juicy. Iwill say though, I didn't enjoy the BBQ sauce selection they had as it was incredibly watery. The Service: The service wasgreat! The staff were friendly when we walked in and was able to get us a seat outside to enjoy the weather. Our waiter cameback a few times to give us water refills and check in the food. The restaurant was nicely decorated as well, had a very nicesouthern theme. Overall, solid 3/5. I don't think I'll be coming back as I'll be looking for better BBQ elsewhere. However, itcould've just been an off day. Read more
The food was delicious. We are going back. They had a group of high school students there from Nebraska. One hundred and ten... 11th graders! I was impressed by that alone. They sat us quickly and our food came in good timing. We ordered Pork Ribs Bbqchicken Devil eggs Collard greens Brisket sandwich with egg Side salad Cornbread Max and cheese Baked beans Everything wasgood Favorites we're mac and cheese, cornbread, eggs, and chicken. The salad was fresh! Everything was good. They haveoutside dining if you prefer. They also have a side with a bar and television. My 9-year-old who likes to eat gave it a 9 outof 10. My husband that doesn't eat any meat on the bone enjoyed his brisket sandwich. My 1-year old ate a little bit ofeverything. If all 3 of my men like the food then we will return. Read more
i heard high praise of texas jacks and this bbq did not disappoint! to start we got the brisket egg rolls which are so good they... rival my other favorite philly cheese steak egg rolls. my parents and i shared the regular meat medley for our entrees. all themeat was so well seasoned and cooked but my favorites were the pulled pork and the brisket. for our sides we got brusselsprouts, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and corn bread. the brussel sprouts were so delicious and the mac and cheese had the perfectcheese ratio. for dessert we got the german chocolate cake, which had a decent amount of coconut filling, the banana puddingwhich was just ok, and the bread pudding that was literally the best thing i’ve ever eaten. the portion sizes were so largethat we were eating leftovers for two days after our visit. the staff here is super kind and helpful. they answered anyquestions we had and were very attentive. overall this place was great and i would definitely come back Read more
This place need to learn how to make real BBQ. The owner is from Greece, and the head Chef is from NY… just hearing that it... changed my opinion on the food but I was like hey let me give it a try. The drinks were the best thing I had that what I cansay. I have had BBQ all over the nation and this ranks last for me. The brunt ends where dry and had no meat on them, they hadno BBQ sauce on them. It wasn’t a different between them in the brisket. I know they are the same meat but they should bethere own favor and it wasn’t there. The staff was super nice and was on top of everything we needed. The mac and cheese wasdry as well and not well seasoned. Read more
Second time I’ve eaten here and first time since I came back to the DMV. The food lives up to the hype. You can really taste... the smoke in the meat and the food is moist so it just falls off the bone which I love. The mac and cheese was very cheesy in away where it wasn’t too much. Good staff and a good slice of key lime pie at the end. Read more
