They were sold out of things I specifically came for which broke my heart. This is why I only marked a 4 for food. But all in... all what I did have was very good. Staff were very friendly and it didn't seem to matter who helped. Anyone in the area checkedin with me even though I wasn't their area. It was really amazing. It was extremely loud which was made worse somehow by thespace. But that isn't really their fault. It is the only reason I marked it as 4 instead of 5 for atmosphere. If you are comingand hoping for an important conversation, I don't recommend it. But if you are just looking to drown in a space surrounded byhappy chatter and conversation, this is pretty amazing. They do have a happy hour sometimes that has some good things on it.The parmesan fries were pretty tasty. I highly recommend them. I do like them crispy and specially requested it and theydelivered. terrible service, unqualified bartenders, two wrong orders, and a well done steak that I ordered to be medium-rare. Not anywhere... near worth what they charge and the only bad food experience I’ve had in Arlington. Steer clear. Read more
Portion size vs price is ridiculous. Doesn't taste anywhere near where it should for what the items are. The chicken had... absolutely no seasoning. Took over a half hour to get our food, and when it came to us, it wasn't even hot. Don't waste yourtime or money. Read more
Service was ok. A little slow but it wasn’t to bad. Got annoyed they ran out of the desert my wife was wanting and told us... about it 20 minutes later. The food made up for it, the replacement desert was good and the drink was good. Not bad if you’restaying at the hotel it’s attached to. I wouldn’t go out of my way if I wasn’t a guests here. Great French onion soup, seriously. Great bar selection, servers are wonderful (not too overbearing, but always keep you full).... It’s the least depressing “hotel” bar I’ve ever seen (a high compliment from a frequent traveller) - they’re actuallygood in their own right, not just the convenience! Read more
Great place for visitors to our offices. Our out-of-town employees, board members and other guests always enjoy at least one... meal at the tavern, and often more than one. And resident staff don't tire of the good food. The staff friendliness adds to theoverall warmth of the informal setting, a real bright spot on the north end of Crystal Drive. My only complaint is that itdoesn't serve lunch. Read more
I stay at the Crown Plaza on most of my monthly trips to DC not only foe the location but most for the food and service at... Potomac Tavern. The staff is always friendly and accommodating but the Oriental Salad, Mussels, and Mango Cheesecake isunbelievably delicious. While other things on the menu are equally delicious, these are my favorites. If you are looking for thebest elderflower gin and tonic ask for Said. He is the best bartender.
