Went here for Arlington restaurant week and we absolutely enjoyed it! Warm and cozy vibe, with a super affordable and filling... pre-fixe meal. Will definitely be going back to try their brunch menu. Went to La Côte D'Or Café on a random Sunday for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere and staff were very warm... and charming. The food was delicious and exactly what you would expect from a traditional French restaurant. We had the housesmoked salmon salad and Escargots for an appetizer, and the Grouper du Pêcheur and Roasted rack of lamb for our entrees.Everything was spot on. Great food. The lamb chops are so good and delicious, make you think that you are eating butter. The fries and mushrooms with... garlic so yummy. The apple pie is probably the best in nova. A cozy place to have a romantic French meal! The food was delicious the service was good. We waited forever for our starter, but... once we let the waiter know he quickly had it on our table. We love the annual Peach Dinner! And we love this restaurant. Chef Jacques has phenomenal inspirational gems on the menu daily,... if you haven't been here I highly recommend it. I don't know if the chef was having an off day or something, but this place was underwhelming. I went with me family after my... sister's graduation. My mom picked it out since she had fond memories of the restaurant. Confirming what everyone at our tablewas saying about the food, she said that it's gone downhill. I ordered the three course lunch special, choosing a salad withavocado vinaigrette and a dijon mustard vinaigrette as the appetizer, a hamburger with bacon and swiss cheese as the maincourse, and sorbet and a latte for dessert. They deserve points for presentation on the salad, with featured beautifullyarranged slices of avocado. However, the flavor left something to be desired. Perhaps it was because the dressing was anavocado vinaigrette and avocado doesn't have a particularly strong flavor, but I would've expected the dijon component of thedressing to have more of an impact. Whatever misgivings I had about the salad were soon overshadowed by the disappointment ofthe main course. I asked for a medium rare burger, but it came out well done and on the dry side. The bacon was alsoovercooked/dry, particularly at the ends. I could have made a better burger at home frankly. The French fries however werecrispy and tasty. For dessert I ordered a mango sorbet and latte, both of which were fine, though unremarkable. I reallywanted to like this place since my mom had hyped it up for all of us, but in the end it was a regrettable dining experience. Hopefully they were just having an off day and their standards haven't permanently dropped, but based on my meal I can'trecommend this restaurant. Read more
