Finally a cafe in Rosslyn that isn\'t a nationwide chain! This charming cafe has a distinctly East African vibe, which is... appropriate because their coffee is from Rwanda. I got an iced American, and loved the bright, acidic, and spicy notes that EastAfrican coffee is known for. Bourbon Coffee is privately owned, and is one of several in the DC area. They source theirdelicious beans through direct trade with Rwandan coffee farmers and cooperatives. According to their website, cutting out themiddleman in this way means they can pay the farmers 25% more than even Fair Trade would pay them.
