Reviews for Bob & Edith’s Diner in Arlington, VA
I love diners and really wanted to like this one. I loved Linda?s cafe (the place Bob and Edith?s bought at this site). ... Unfortunately, our group of 5 all felt Bob & Edith?s was a huge disappointment. The service was good and quick but the food waspoor. Other than the waffle and coffee, which were fine, the rest (omelettes, breakfast meats, hash browns, potatoes, orangejuice) was almost inedible. It?s just odd as diner food isn?t that complicated. I?m bummed. I wanted a local diner to replaceLinda?s and this just isn?t it. Save your money and go elsewhere. Read more
I started going to Bob & Edith's down on Columbia Pike when I was a teenager back in the 80's. It is nice to see a location... closer to where my parents live in Falls Church and the breakfast there is still one of the best in northern Virginia. Read more
Service at the new location on RT29 Arlington, was great. But the quality of the burger steak really let expectations go down... with bone chips in the meat! Read more
Love, love, LOVE this diner. The staff was excellent, the food was superb and the atmosphere was perfect.
Food was fine. But the pricing was the problem. The ?222 Special? was advertised on the chalkboard at $8.99. I was charged... $9.79, and when I asked about it, the waiter said that different 222 specials cost different amounts based on whether you getbacon or sausage or ham. Really? Then don?t say it?s $8.99 with no other explanatory language. It?s not so much the $.80 that Icare about as the illogical nature of the whole thing. Read more
Simple foods from a greasy spoon. The home fries are always a great addition any meal. The chalkboard specials are always a... great deal Read more
Bright and clean inside with an awesome staff! There is a giant chalkboard with specials listed. Two of us ordered from this... and were not disappointed. The hashbrowns are great and the pancakes are over the top. I can't believe that I've never beenhere before because they have been open over 50 years. Definitely will be back the next time we are in Arlington. Read more
This place is terrible and really is a fall from the quality brought by the original Bob and Edith?s. I was given the wrong... order, and politely told the server that it wasn?t what I ordered. They grabbed the plate and then immediately gave it tosomeone else. You aren?t supposed to redistribute food after it touches the customer?s table. The food itself is mediocre atbest. My sausage patties were burnt on the outside, raw in the middle, and the home fries were flavorless and undercooked. Afterthe second bite of my meal I was given the check. I understand speedy service from a diner atmosphere, but it felt a littlerushed. There were plenty of tables open and it was not busy at all. Keep your money and go to Taco Bell or McDonald?s down theroad for breakfast. Read more
