Great Italian food and wonderful atmosphere. One of the few places any more you can actually carry on a conversation. White... table cloths and great service. Read more
Food was okay, not great- not sure if it was because we came at lunch and it wasn?t busy! I definitely don?t think the food is... worth the price tag, which is disappointing. I really love a good chicken Marsala, but did not enjoy it here. The Marsala saucewas more of a weird gravy than a sauce. I hate to say it, but Olive Garden?s chicken Marsala blows this one out of the water.... it also had a side of extremely over cooked squash and a small portion of spaghetti with marana sauce which was odd. I reallywish they would have put the noodles underneath the Marsala and left the marinara sauce off entirely. Also, the entrees comewith a salad, so I ordered a Caesar salad which they charged me an extra $6.50 for. I was kind of shocked because the waiter didnot mention that the Caesar salad was not included or that it was extra. Don?t get me wrong, not everything was bad. The chickenpiccata was pretty good and the stuffed mushrooms were also delicious. I don?t think I?ll be returning since the cost was prettyexpensive and I don?t think the quality of food holds up to the price. Read more
*please note that I ate at this restaurant 6 months ago. They could possibly have a new chef* Fontana's has been all over... Arlington - east side, north side, and who knows where else. Now they're on South Cooper. Beautifully decorated and the staffis lovely. In fact, I gave a star for each of those things. On a Saturday night in December we had a martini to start, whichwas fine. The appetizer of lobster ravioli was mediocre at best. Bread was not acceptable- was it Frozen bread????? Surely not. Our main course was the seafood combo ($48) which we split . I didn't feel bad about splitting since we had drinks , anappetizer and the entree was $48. Im not sure what happened, but it was absolutely tasteless. I told my husband to stop eatingand we'd take it home and I'd make a decent sauce for it. I was so mad. The seafood was MOSTLY CALAMARI. I should have taken aclue from the fact there was no one in there at dinner time. I'd like to hear if anyone had had the pasta; maybe it's betterbut I'm not spending anymore of my money there. Wanted to give it a try in order to support local neighborhood restaurants. Had ordered their sea bass, salmon and spaghetti for... dinner. The fish were not fresh and very dry. Their fish were likely packaged frozen products. The prices were ridiculously highand did not match the food quality! The spaghetti is lesser quality than quick cheeper home made. I don't plan on coming backto this place. Read more
