Bad service. Food smelled delicious but I was next in line and the helper behind the counter looked right over me and asked the... next man in line if he had been helped,like she didn?t even want to serve me. He directed her back to me. I do not appreciatethat. I?m a driver and thought I?d make a quick stop. I only ordered cornbread and it was cold? sorry y?all it?s all aboutcustomer service. I visited yesterday or the first time, upon recommendation o the hotel staff. I ordered the fried buffalo fish, mac 'n cheese,... sweet potatoes, green beans, and cabbage. The fish was fried and seasoned perfectly. The sides were just as good, with theexception of the cabbage. More inside seating is needed. I am waiting to try this peach cobbler. Customer service was veryattentive and friendly. I can only imagine that this was the "club before the club" prior to the pandemic. I highly suggestyou try this place. Read more
This place reminded me of my Granny's cooking. She only used salt and pepper to season and somehow the food was still perfect.... That's how this place was. I had the beef tips over rice, yams cabbage and Mac and cheese with corn bread. Read more
The service was okay, I was not greeted or acknowledged upon walking in despite there being three workers at the food line and... there were no customers in line except me. I literally starred at them with confusion wondering if I was at the right spot toretrieve my online order. I then inquired on if they would help me. Honestly in 2022, this is simply unacceptable and thereason why black business sometimes get a bad rep. Message to Employees: Just know the customers keep the employees employed.You aren?t doing us a favor by serving us. It is your duty. Think back to Covid and how hard everything was and treat customerskindly, as there are other places to buy daiquiris and mediocre soul food. Nonetheless, my review is simply based on the actualfood experience. I ordered baked chicken (2 quarters) with yams and Mac and cheese. The yams were good. The chicken was veryfair in color and bland. I added some bbq sauce and it did not help. I also think the chicken could have cooked a little whilelonger. It was undercooked. I ended up throwing the other quarter chicken away. The mac and cheese was not good at all. I wentthe day before Easter hoping for some good mac and cheese, as I had to travel for work on Easter Sunday. The mac and cheese hadno cheese. Like none. Lol. The sauce it was in tasted very much like imitation cheese and it was very milky and bland. I addedshredded cheese to it, but it could not mask the awful taste of the imitation cheese. Sadly, I will not be back for any food. Iwill try the daiquiris next time. Wish I could get my money back as the food was trashed!!! What a waste of effort, time andmoney!!!! The environment was a vibe but the food was ok, oxtails was kind of bland not well seasoned and more bone then meat. Mac and... cheese was good, cabbage was very spicy and had a unpleasant sweet taste to it. Not picture worthy either. Yams were very good.Daiquiri was good as well. Ok today maybe the food on the line is better but this cabbage crunchy and peppered down not done, these was suppost to be... grilled chops these were tough and no flavor and the daiquiris only have 18% wine in them per the old school man serving atthe counter said as he gave me this 17.00 jug .
