Food was really good. Service wasn't awful but could've been better.

Not as good as they used to be. I ordered a side of turnip greens, and there were more onions than greens! Good flavor however,... but not a fan of all the onion. I usually order the pot roast, but it isn?t as flavorful. Read more

Black-eyed Pea is a classic and nostalgic restaurant. Our waiter Archie was on top of everything and was super friendly. My wife... and I throughly enjoyed this dining experience. I had the New Orleans Catfish and she had the Fried Catfish. Both were amazingand they have the best tarter sauce. Our appetizer was the Fried Green Tomatos and they were very yummy as well. This locationis the Only one in Texas. Located in Arlington about 20 minutes away from the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Read more

I did not get what I paid for. I ordered the turkey, black eye peas & broccoli. I paid an extra $2.49 for ala carte cornbread... dressing, but received it as the entre with black eye peas and green beans just tossed together in the container. Thecornbread dressing is actually stuffing, and if it's not, it's not made with actual cornbread. Did not receive the broccoli. The food was cold. The avocados on the cobb salad were black. I called the establishment to file the complaint, was put onhold twice, held almost 20 minutes, finally had to hang up. Awful service, and food, paid for an item, but did not receive, very disappointed, awful Sunday dinner. Read more

This dinner was 12 years in the makings. Oh it was so worth it. We made total pigs if ourselves, ordered a little of... everything, and the memories just flooded back. The food was exactly what I remembered and delicious. Staff was so graciousconsidering we walked in 1 hour before closing and never rushed us. We are fans for life and will be back for sure. Our local Blackeyed Pea closed down a long time ago so when I saw this one., I was so excited (enough so that I went in to dine... alone & I never do that). Unfortunately this was a very disappointing visit. It took over half an hour to get my meal (SouthwestChicken Casserole w Broccoli Rice Casserole & Squash Casserole). The Southwest Chicken was refrigerator cold everywhere exceptaround the edges (gross!) The Broccoli Rice was very dry and tasted like it had been sitting done for too long. Again, gross.Squash & Cornbread was really good, thank goodness. Waiter didn?t come back to my table for probably 10 or so minutes and when Itold him about my food., he just said he was sorry about that and walked off!?!? No offer to correct it, discount it, nothing! And the worst part, they were SLOW (as you can see in pictures I added). I was also told manager was busy. I visited thereyesterday evening and still feel like they should make this right somehow. I will not be visiting them again nor I would I everrecommend them to anyone unless they somehow make this right. Regrets- Read more

The food was very good and so was the service. I am not a fan of black-eyed peas, but...honey...omg..the black-eyed peas were... amazing. I guess if they didn't live up to their name they should change it, right.. LOL. The collard green were tender, themashed sweet potatoes with pecans added could have been a little sweeter and some marshmallows would have been a great addition. The fried pickles were breaded and coated perfectly and were really good. But the peas stole the show. As a Texas visitor fromGeorgia I enjoyed my experience at The Black Eyed Pea and would recommend a visit. HEADS UP - If you have a party of 8 or morethe restaurant will put all orders on the same check. Read more
