We had been going to the Apollon for many years. I tried taking my 91 year old Greek mother there last Saturday. We started by... ordering a $30 bottle of wine. It was my sister?s birthday so we probably would have ordered a second one. My Mom wasinterested in an appetizer which has a variety of different kinds of Greek dishes she loves. It costs $20/ 2 $30/3. We alsowanted to order an additional appetizer. Our bill always exceeds $100, sometimes $200 for the 3 of us. We were told my themanager on duty that we couldn?t eat what we wanted but had to order three , 3 course meals. We left. My Mom didn?t get to havea taste of her favorite food. I?m not sure why they even have appetizers if you aren?t allowed to order them unless you alsoorder a three course meal. Make the appetizers smaller or offer the variety plate as a meal. Disappointed. Read more

We had an incredibly romantic dinner here. Got reservations on a Tuesday night but definitely wouldn't have needed them. The... lamb was tender! The portions were small, but that is to be expected with an upscale menu. Get the lemon dessert! Read more

My previous experience is listed below. I'm dropping my review down a bit because honestly I've never had such weird service at... a restaurant. As you can see I've eaten literally everywhere and nothing against the server but not allowing me to ordersomething is ridiculous. I tried to order three starters and was told it's a dinner place. I thought she was joking. What I gotwas good but I wanted to try more of a variety. I recently moved to Appleton and I'd been looking forward to coming consideringmy first experience was amazing. I think I'd be at Apollon at least once a week, as it's the best food in the city, now I'm notso sure. I never expected to find a great Mediterranean place in Appleton. The food was delicious, the price was veryaffordable and the service was on point. I've had a few things off their menu and based off that I'd say there isn't a wrongchoice. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for something different than the normal American food in Appleton. Also, theentrees may seem expensive but it's actually a three course meal, just a little information about the menu. @dietproof Read more

Went here for a dinner with office colleagues. Food is great and so are the drinks. Approach to this place wasn?t that great due... some construction happening on the road outside. Ambience is nice. They don?t have a huge space and is a bit congested as wellbut enough for a dine in. Prices are on a higher side. Overall, a decent experience. Read more

This is by far one of our favorite Appleton restaurants for a special occasion. This being my husband's birthday made it the... perfect place. From the Bread basket with Hummus, Soup, Salad, & our ever favorite Lamb Tenderloins with Champagne Saffron withShitake Mushroom Sauce never disappoints. Great atmosphere, food & excellent service from Kelly made the evening a perfectcelebration. Topped it off with Baklava & in-house made Vanilla Bean Gelato. Needless to say we were satisfied!!. My husband and I have been coming here for 22 years. (My first time was prom). Always great food and service. This time however,... I ordered their special which was sellian sea bass served with lobster bisque sauce and veggies. When it came out, the meallooked ok. When I took a bite, I almost immediately spit the fish out. Which takes a lot. I had my husband taste it. He spit itout and said it was horrible fishy and had to have been frozen. My son tried a bite too . He spit it out. It was $36. I told thewaitress that I was not happy with my meal and said this fish was frozen not fresh. She took my complaint very well and went tothe kitchen. About 10 minutes later, she came back and said that the fish was fresh per chef. The fishy taste was from thelobster bisque sauce. They didn't even offer to pay for my dessert to keep me coming back, which i still will. I don't usuallyspeak bad about a restaurant, but if the original owner heard about this, he would have been very disappointed. In the future, Iwill order appetizers ,soup, salad, and dessert ???? . No more ordering specials and not even get something taken off the billbecause not being happy with my meal. My husband is a hobby gourmet chef which I'm am so grateful for. He makes sure that he hasthe freshest, organic ingredients to make a yummy meals. I guess the cook showed his/her true colors of how you can makesomething look tasty but in reality , taste like ****. It's just a job and no passion to impress customers. Very sad. :( Read more

Phenomenal! The menu made my mouth water with every selection! Great wine selection and menu. My lamb was roasted every minute... of 7 hours, and was so juicy, flavorful, and fell off the bone. Soup, salad, dressings, and dessert all made fresh, all tasty, and exceptional. Our waitress was one of the best we've ever had ANYWHERE! She explained every dish, the ingredients, how it'smade, and really took pride in what she served. Would absolutely recommend for something special, unique, and extraordinary. Read more
