Consider it as 5?? if you are local residents who want to try out some authentic South Indian (Asian) non-vegetarian and... vegetarian food. This type of Indian food is quite different from Indian food served in traditional Indian Restaurants in USA(most serve North Indian/Panjabi style food). I held a star only because for my palate they still have room to improve????. Igave my feedback to the chef during my visit, and he was quite receptive. One of the pictures below shows how I combinedmultiple entries in a single portion. Yes, they do serve the food in traditional South Indian style (on Banana Leaf). In India,it has always been one of the ?sustainable? practices for serving food, but when leaf is placed on a additional plate, then itonly becomes a marketing trick.???? Food was really tasty, and I?m hoping that it will improve even further when I visit herenext. They also excelled at serving North Indian food (Naan bread special mention). Read more

Got chicken combo lunch? Tasteless food? Never ever go if you are from Tamilnadu? No flavour of biryani at all in Chicken... Biryani.. it looks like tamarind rice. Chicken gravy can?t even taste it. Chicken fry over cooked and it?s black and the oilused for fry it seems used multiple times. Rasam mixed in yogurt cup. Dhaal is raw and not even they did seasoning usingmustard/jeera seeds. Ah the flavoured butter milk very bad taste. They would have given normal masala buttermilk. If you wantambience then go there but if you want to eat even average tamil style food Pl don?t go to Kumar?s apple valley?and I never go.I went with three of my friends and wasted our time and money. Don?t fell for banana leaf trick better buy the banana leaf andcook the food in home and eat and have fun!!! Read more

Exceptional customer service! Staff was all polite and went out of their way to make us all feel welcome and made sure... everything was good. The cooks are amazing I would prefer Kumar over other Indian restaurants due to their polite customerservice, flavor in their food, their price value, and their portion size! Read more

TL/DR: There?s a lot of potential but the place really needs to fix its issues around food and service. The review is from the... PoV of a South Indian who grew up in TamilNadu, and needless to say the judgement comes from a very high level of standard, ascompared to a review of any other cuisine such as Mexican, Italian etc. That being said, I really wanted, with all my heart, forit to a good experience and was really looking forward to it. About an year back, lunch time conversation among non-Indians atwork was that the place had some good food. But honestly, we had a disappointing experience. We were a group of 4 people, ordered 2 vegetarian thali, two dosas, a vada and milagu rasam. The rasam never came. The thalis were ok at best, decent valuefor the price but very average taste. At least they came out quickly. But I don?t think we?d come back specifically to eat thethali. Two dosas took more than 40 mins to come, by which time the two people who had thali finished their meal. And the chutneywas straight out of the fridge and cold and the dosas had gone pretty cold too by the time we got it. The very least that needsto be good at a South Indian restaurant is the dosa and that ended up being not great too. Looked like there was only one personat the front desk who was also handling the orders at the table, cleaning tables, bringing food etc. Three cheers to that personwho despite doing all this still had a smile on his face. The restaurant concept is great and South Indian food is unique tothe twin cities and there is quite a bit of demand but I feel like it?s all just not coming together at this restaurant. Withfood not living up to the mark and service very slow, I?d rather eat South Indian food that I can cook for myself at home thango here. It?s probably worth a visit for many ( especially non-Indians if you haven?t had South indian food) and maybe you?llhave a better experience but I don?t think we are going back here. Read more

One of the nice Indian restaurants. Great food. I have been here more than couple of times. Weekends are normally too crowded.... We had to wait a lot of time after ordering because of lack of people to serve the food(that's why giving one star less) Read more

Great taste not to much spicy. Adequate amount of spice, we took their seafood and chicken Thali . Quantity is enough for one... person. It's more on Tamil Nadu side cooking which is good rather than generic Indian restaurant cooking. I will visitagain. Tip - Get reservation if going on weekend. Read more

For authentic Indian food kumar's is the place to go. Was very happy with the food and the staff were very polite and super... friendly . Loved how the didn't change the recipe/spice level to cater to the American customers and stuck to the roots of thedish and the quantity as good as well . Everything they make is super fresh and you can taste the freshness in the food. Theirflavoured buttermilk was to die for. So refreshing! We got some Biryanis for later and we were so happy with how neatly it waspacked and given to us .. Will definitely be heading back soon to try and relish everything on their menu :) Super impressedwith the place, food and service :D Read more

For date night, my Girlfriend and I decided to try something new, and WOW, were we impressed. First off, the service is... impeccable. All of our food arrived hot and fresh, and the flavors were amazing. This is nothing like the boring curries anddishes you get at most Indian restaurants in MN, it is vibrant, authentic and delicious. Definitely a must try, and a newfavorite! Read more
