Reviews for Dirtwater Springs in Apache Junction, AZ
Had sirloin, pineapple coleslaw & asparagus the 1st time & sirloin, baked potato and salad the 2nd. Sweet tea is not really... sweet, potato was small, coleslaw was awesome and the steak was good. He had Mac and cheese with BBQ brisket. Service could havebeen better but they were all nice. Read more
A bit pricey. The nic nacs have an inch of dust on them above your head while you eat. The meatloaf was very good. Mash potatoes... were spectacular. I saw someone at the next table get a hamburger. It looked large and quite good. Service was good, but icould tell she was really working hard to keep up. I will come back for sure. Read more
Great place to eat! The fish fry is fabulous, especially the pineapple coleslaw it comes with. Chicken fingers were great.... Homemade tartar sauce was yummy! The atmosphere is very cool, like an old west bar. Service was outstanding. Highly recommended! Read more
Service provided by the waitress was great. Up until the food came out. Half of my order was missing and she didn't notice, my... girlfriend's order was not correct either. We let them know. By the time they brought out the missing food from my order, myplate was cold. They never came with the fixed food for my girlfriend nor did they apologize for anything or even try to make itright. We aren't the type to ask management to fix an issue when it's as busy as it was. We just learn from our visit andconsider that before we decide whether or not we want to visit again. They did have a Live Duo playing outside which was superneat. Take 2 was the name. The mimosas and bloody Mary's were most definitely the stars of the menu on Sunday for my entiretable. Read more
Ribs were saucy and fell off bone while the Philly cheesesteak was very good. Great blue cheese dressing too.
Fun spot in Apache Junction. We ordered a burger, ahi salad and chicken fried steak. The burger was really flavorful and ahi... salad was good. We ordered two drink specials. They were uniquely made but a little weak in my opinion and mostly ice. Theserver was very nice and upbeat. I would come back again. Read more
Cute old building although floors are slippery. Cute, kitschy decor. I had the fried chicken which I shared my husband and he... ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The chicken was very good with staggeringly crispy skin which was the highlight. The breastwas a little overcooked and dry but still pretty good, the other pieces were cooked correctly. Side salad was nice. Frenchfries were decent. My mashed potatoes and gravy were barely warm so not great, waitress replaced them after coming by to checkin. 2nd batch came out immediately and were piping hot and much better. Husband's cheeseburger was tasty, juicy, and big. Overall pretty good experience. Read more
This review is for a dining experience from mid-July. I must have seen this place after one of my hikes out east and we finally... stopped in for dinner one Saturday, early evening. Its decor as I expected a diner in Apache Junction to have. A lot of wood, taxidermy animals, and other old nick-knacks. The parking lot is pretty large but definitely needs re-paved and the linesre-painted. They were almost invisible. Luckily we got there relatively early for dinner and there were not many cars for us toworry about. The food was good but to be honest the four-star rating was due in large part to our server, Tresa. She waswonderful: attentive, funny, and witty. I am in no way saying the food was bad (the pineapple coleslaw was something new for me,and it had a nice flavor). The zucchini appetizer came out piping hot, my sister ordered the prime rib, and I believe I ordereda small sirloin. I do not eat prime rib but usually it's a nice deep pink color when my sister orders it at other places. Thistime it was not pink; my sirloin was flavored pretty well but I still used A-1 for a bit extra flavor. For desert we orderedthe peach cobbler which wasn't bad, but I think the crust was store bought - not bad in and of itself, I guess I was hoping forsomething thicker and much flakier. So yes, the food was good but considering we live in Laveen, I would not say it was goodenough to drive back all that way ... unless we happen to be in the area for another hike. In which case, yeah, I would eat atDirtwater again. :-) Read more
