Extremely solid place for soondubu jjigae (tofu stew). The menu is pretty limited beyond that and other staples like... bibimbap. They also serve hot tea as an option instead of ice water, and the sides were delicious. I ordered the combinationtofu stew, and I think next time, I'll still exclusively eat seafood. The beef was kinda tough and both together were not asgood as just seafood. Read more

Great place to stop by to eat on a raining day! Or any day... everything was hot and with lots of favor. I always get the kimchi... beef tofu soup and the stir fried noodles with octopus and veggies whenever I eat here. If you decide to stop by, definitely trythose two dishes! Read more

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bit of a soondubu jjigae addict, so when I learned that there was a tofu house right here... in the DMV area, I knew I had to make my way there immediately. Sure, Lighthouse Tofu can't compare to the likes of BCD TofuHouse or a tofu stew from a Korean ahjumma's kitchen, but it sure comes pretty darn close. The soondubu jjigae is absolutelydelicious, comforting, and cozy. You really can't go wrong with any of their variations -- I've tried their kimchi, vegetable, and mushroom choices, and each one has been packed with flavor and deliciousness. I haven't had the opportunity to test theirmeat or seafood options, but with a base stew that's so incredibly flavorful and meat dishes that are, according to thetestimonies of my more carnivorous friends, absolutely delicious, I can't imagine that each of their soondubu jjigae options areanything short of perfection. Their stew is the perfect consistency, just thick enough to make you feel like the stew has bodyand isn't a watery mess, but also not so thick that you're left wondering where the actual soup is. They offer a variety ofspice levels, and I, personally, find their hot / spicy tier to be perfect, as the extra hot version dips over into the "spicyenough that this might not be particularly fun tomorrow morning" territory. They also do a phenomenal job with the banchan, which includes kimchi, jangajji, cucumber kimchi, and a light and refreshing cold, vinegary kimchi stew that's just the perfectway to end the meal. Their delicious food is paired with absolutely incredible service -- the servers are all incredibly kind, attentive, and friendly, and oftentimes the entire waitstaff will pause what they're doing to welcome you in and see you out.Service is speedy, the servers are always on standby to refill your banchan or barley tea (or water if you somehow aren't abarley tea fan), and the entire experience is just all-around perfection. For those who are multilingual, they Read more

The place is so small. The tables were so close to each other. We had Tofu soup, it was okay, but the soup bowl and soup... container looked dirty to me. I had a combination of seafood. Tofu soup, which contains one shrimp, 2 thin slices of beef, and5 clams and full of mashed Tofu and a bowl of rice. After I ate the soup, I had a stomach ache. Go figure! Read more

I've been looking for authentic Korean tofu in the DC area and this is it! The soon and bulgogi were great and I will definitely... be back. There is ample parking out front and in back and the staff were nice and attentive. Read more

Had a fantastic meal here with friends. The service is great and the food is delicious. The Chayote is all I can think about... now. They accommodated my sesame allergy, which I am so thankful for. Truly an amazing restaurant to stop by and check out! Youwon?t be disappointed. Read more

This place is amazing!! Nothing better on a cold winter day! The "spicy" level soup isnt too spicy, just a stronger kim chi... flavor, which isnt spicy IMO. But delicious! We also ordered a mild soup so our son would eat it, the veggie pancake andbulgogi. Everything is always delicious here! Read more

Phenomenal tofu soup! Spacious and clean restaurant. It was busy on Saturday but no wait for a table. The menu is short and... simple. The kimchi is tasty and not overpowering. We got oyster and mushroom tofu soup, seafood pancake, and otopus noodle. Evenwith plain soup, the tofu pot was very flavorful. My friend was a bit disappointed at the mushroom soup since it only had onetype of mushrooms. I didn't like the otopus dish's flavor, it feels flat despite being spicy. Just a word of warning, you getreally sleepy after eating there, not sure if it's due to the generous amount of food or MSG! Read more
