Reviews for A&J Restaurant in Annandale, VA
I would describe the overall experience with 2/5 stars, nothing too special for me to come back again for. I ordered the most... popular dishes and they were all on the salty side. Also ordered the peking beef wrap and all I could taste was carrots. Iwanted to stop by to give this place a try and I think it will be my first and last time there. Read more
There?s no AC and it?s really hot inside the premises. Our chicken over rice was over fried and hard to chew on. Paid my bill... and unfortunately I forgot to get my to go order but they never even bother to call me while walking out the store about mycarry out. I called in and the lady was very hard to understand over the phone. Read more
The service was very quick and the food was yummy! they only accept cash or Venmo. I liked the bean curd with mustard greens... dish, the cucumber salad and the fried chicken in rice the most. I've had better scallion pancakes, but it was decent. Read more
I like their savory soy bean milk and pan fried beef bun. The pan fried beef bun has a lot of juice inside, so customers need to... be pretty careful when eating it, but that?s also what makes it so good! Other items are pretty authentic Taiwanese breakfaststuff - not particularly delicious but good enough considering it?s in the US. They have a parking lot right in front of therestaurant. Overall, I think it?s my go-to place whenever I?m craving for Taiwanese breakfast. Read more
This is a long-standing Taiwanese restaurant in Annandale Koreatown. Not a fancy restaurant for sure but they provide... comfortable ambiance. As you can tell from their customers, many Asians enjoy this restaurant food. Hot tea comes with everymeal (it is free of charge, and you can ask for water instead). I ordered cucumber salad in hot garlic sauce, Xiaolong bao, beefnoodle soup and braised pork on rice with braised egg. I ordered handmade wide noodles as my choice for the beef noodle soup.Their beef noodle soup is not a typical beef noodle soup that I am used with. Broth is not rich enough and a bit red coloredbroth. Although it has some spices, it does not have a deep meat-based flavor. Handmade wide noodles are righteous. Xiaolong baois okay but is not juicy as I tried from other restaurants and dumping skin is a bit thick. Their service is attentive andfriendly. They only take "cash". Here are tips: Food: Average or slightly average flavor on certain menu Service: Attentive andfriendly Ambiance: a typical Chinese restaurant interior. Parking: free of charge but limited as they share with otherrestaurants Read more
Overall good food, but limited seating. The fried chicken was good, both with rice and noodles. The red bean pastry was nice and... flaky. Coffee milk tea was great, but the taro milk tea came out very warm. Read more
Food here is awesome! The beef is so tender, and with the thick noodles it's great. Also recommend scallion pancake, soy milk,... dumplings, pork chop and pig ear if you're into it. I come here every time I visit my cousin, never disappoint. Read more
Really yummy authentic Taiwanese small plates! Highly recommend the spicy cucumber salad, scallion pancake, xiao long bao, spicy... wontons and the beef wrap. Fried chicken over rice is good, too. Read more
