From the moment we walked in I knew that our experience was going to be magical. Like our server was knowledgeable and fun. For... the most part the food was exceptional. Nice wine list. Found some decent Chablis and a good Napa Merlot. Had a delicious Fruit of the Sea with shrimp, fish, and... sweet scallop. Ordered asparagus on side which was also good. They had some nice looking deserts but was too full and passedthis time. Most frustrating part os that they packed up the leftovers only so that i could forget them there. Argh. I came to chop house with high expectations. They have an excellent aesthetic but I was overall disappointed with their... porterhouse and their sides. The porterhouse was ordered medium rare. They did not mess up on the cook temp. But it was underseasoned. I had to ask for salt to get any flavor. I believe it is because lots of people order sauces with their steakshere. We also ordered the sautéed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, potato gratin, and the creamed spinach. Both potatoes were alsounder seasoned. Not sure if i would come back unless someone invited me here. This was not a normal Chop House experience. This was my first visit to the Ann Arbor location that we decided to celebrate my... birthday at. It was a Tuesday night (March 22), sat us in the bar and not very busy. Our waitress was very respectful butdidn't seem to want to be there and was not engaged. The food was just ok. We had Salads, Filet, NY, 27 layer Potatoes, andMushrooms. It was recommended by our waitress that we do not order our steaks medium-rare but to order medium. The Filet wascooked close to medium-rare but the NY was medium-well. Not even close to a medium-rare. The CH Old Fashioned was the best Ihave ever had. We seemed rushed the entire meal. We did not get to relax and enjoy each course of our meal and haveconversation over our beverages. We were in and out in 45 minutes (wasn't enough time to enjoy more beverages). Something wasjust a bit off and not like prior Chop House experiences at other locations. We would not return to this location which isdisappointing. We ended back at Knights for birthday beverages and dessert. They were very busy but they appreciated us beingthere. Read more
I had Caitlyn for a server and she was great. I went for Valentines day and they were out of a side dish that I really wanted to... try which was the mac n cheese. Not sure if they ran out of pasta or cheese but that was a bit disappointing. Upon orderingsteaks my party was informed that what our cooked preference was would not be what we'd receive based on how the chef preferredto cook to the steaks. For example, I wanted my steak medium but she told me that he'd cook a medium steak more medium rare andif I wanted true medium that I'd have to request it medium well. To me, that's weird because why not just cook someone's steakhow they prefer it. Based on this I'm assuming that the chef is one of those highly prejudiced ppl who hates ppl that orderssteak well done lol. Me, personally, I don't like well done steak and don't necessarily like when ppl want one but it's not mylife's mission to infringe on people's right to eat their steak however they want it either. The bread that they serve isabsolutely amazing! It's like a cheese muffin but so much more than a cheese muffin at the same time. Cocktails are notwatered-down at all. You order an alcoholic beverage and you're gonna taste and feel it for sure! The brussel sprouts were verydelicious, a tad bit more on the sweet side than I'd prefer but I've been on keto for over a year so my taste buds have changeda lot and anything sweet tastes overly sweet to me. Over all, the service was top notch and the food was definitely good. Thesides are huge portions so they're not just for one person. I would say the ambiance is more on the upscale side but I saw pplcasually dressed or even in what appeared to be street wear. Read more
AMAZING! Hands down one of the best steaks I?ve ever had in my life. Service is second to none, the staff there is attentive and... knowledgeable about wine pairings. We branched on one we were hesitant to try but the waiter was spot on! We come here everytime we celebrate a special occasion and it?s truly a great experience. Read more
