Reviews for HopCat in Ann Arbor, MI
Food tasted good, lots of open seating on Saturday night. Staff was a bit cold and inattentive with the exception being the one... who was seating people, they were great. Ordered the double smash and the cowboy with the pretzel bites as an appetizer. Read more
HopCat is a good place for relaxed / casual pub fare: fries, burgers, soup, and turkey burgers. They have a massive craft beer... list so this is the place to go if you love craft beer! Read more
BEST tomato soup. The fries are addicting. The grilled cheese had apple on it! Lots of stuff to look at, even more drinks to... try. Plenty on draft, signature cocktails and really good food. We tried the loaded fries and grilled cheese with tomato soup. And a couple drinks ???? Read more
Nice restaurant and bar. It's very big and cozy inside with fancy paintings on the wall. They have a great selection of (craft)... beers on tap and in bottles. It's nice but the beers are also expensive. Read more
No fries again for carry-out order! I ordered a cowboy burger combo with onion rings, paid about 20 bulks with tips. When I got... back to office and opened the box, I found there were only a burger and onion rings inside. I did told the front desk I wantfries and onion rings both. Also as I ordered burger combo it should come with fries and pickles as advertised. I did pay forboth. But obviously there is no fries. This happened once about one year ago when I ordered for my wife. The food there isalways good but I don't like this missing fries keep happening. The photo shows what I got when I opened the box. **Update on2/23/2022** The general manager Jordan reached out to me and helped address the problem. I appreciate HopCat is listening tocustomers' problem and willing to improve. Adding another 3 stars for their positive attitude and solution. Read more
Drove up to Ann Arbor for lunch and dined in the heart of downtown. Relaxed atmosphere, plenty of dining space with a large bar... in middle of restaurant (parking garage conveniently located across street). I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with onionand apple slices; tasteful combo and their fries are perfectly seasoned. Attentive and friendly service; wide variety food andbeverage menu. Will be back! #goblue Read more
I usually love HopCat but this chicken sandwich was absolutely terrible. I just read a review who had the same issue. I agree... with her that a McDonald?s chicken sandwich is better quality and way better than the one I got from HopCat. It was un-edible.You shouldn?t have this on the menu if it has had so many complaints. I?m so disappointed and I would really like to hear backfrom someone about this issue. Read more
A delightful bar and restaurant with the perfect location, vibe, menu, and price point for a casual meal, happy hour, or night... out. Located just a few blocks away from the University of Michigan's campus, HopCat is an incredibly convenient stop forstudents, but don't let the swarm of college students intimidate you from stepping in if you're just visiting town! HopCat hasan incredibly inviting and upbeat atmosphere -- it's a bit on the louder side, with the sounds of pop music and vibrantconversations filling the air, but that makes the entire restaurant feel lively and energetic. The decor is also all quiteeclectic and fun, and even the tables are decorated with miniature music posters, adding to the cheery vibes. I came inexpecting the usual casual bar fare -- burgers, fries, nachos, tacos, etc -- but I was pleasantly surprised to find a few solidplant-based options on their menu. I opted for their crunchy buddha bowl, but they also had a few vegetarian salads and soups,as well as a beyond burger and vegan chorizo tacos! I certainly wasn't expecting to find an amazing plant-based bowl in a bar inthe middle of Michigan, but, wow, the crunchy buddha bowl blew me away -- the vegan chorizo and roasted chickpeas weredelightfully spicy and crunchy, contrasting wonderfully with the rich, soft avocado, creamy vegan jalapeno aioli, juicytomatoes, and crisp pickled onions. All in all, it was a beautiful balance of different flavors and textures, all comingtogether in an incredible symphony. Of course, their non-vegetarian options are incredible as well -- I came here for lunch witha friend that I was visiting at Ann Arbor, and she had their iconic cowboy double smash burger with cosmic fries, which wereboth, of course, absolutely amazing. All of this amazing food was served by the kindest, warmest, and most hospitable server. From service to ambiance to food, HopCat was definitely a wonderful spot to visit, and I can't wait to come back to Ann Arbor totry out Read more
