This location SUCKS. every time there is an issue. usually, its the burnt to a crisp chicken thats so bad I have to spit it out.... but i decided to get carnitas this time. i always do pickup orders because its easier when ordering for two at the gym. my bowlwas missing majority of what i wanted in it. bowl WANTED: white rice, black beans, chicken, hot salsa, corn, pico, sour cream,lettuce, cheese, guac. It was missing: guac, lettuce, sour cream, & cheese. THE MOST DRY & SAD MEAL. I can?t even call thestore because when I tried, it was a robot that did nothin for for me. Order around 7:45pm via app, pickup scheduled for 8pm. Got there 5mins late expecting to wait an additional 5-10mins per usual.... Order wasn?t ready and the place was a disaster (music blaring, work stations a mess and not a singular care directed towardscustomer service/engagement). After helping what appeared to be friends I was able to inquire about my now 15min past due meal. Shocker, it wasn?t started and they were now out of lettuce and cheese. I don?t typically post but this has happened numeroustimes and the total ?don?t give a $hit attitude? displayed by the staff was very off putting. Ordered on the app for pickup at 9 since it said they were open until 10. I come to pickup and the door is locked. They refused... to acknowledge me unless I knocked repeatedly on the door. They told me they didn?t make my order and that I needed to contactcustomer service for a refund. The problem is that they don?t have a customer service number and you have to submit a complaintonline. I submitted a complaint 3 times as this happened back in October of 2021 and I?ve yet to had my money refunded. Wouldnot recommend this establishment. Read more
Had I read the reviews I never would have placed an order. Thankfully, I didn't and can report that the portions were on par... with other Chipotle locations. The rice was fully cooked, so that wasn't an issue. I didn't notice any cross contamination akameat in my vegetarian food. The only negative for me is that they were out of guacamole. The meat is consistently under portioned, queso cups are consistently half-empty, chips are consistently under-salted, rice is... consistently al dente, and staff is consistently rude. Even though I live in ankeny, I go out of my way to eat at the one onMerle Hay road when I have time. The Ankeny Chipotle consistently disappoints. Read more
Update from 12/3/22 - tried stopping here again because it?s on my journey. I passed by the Merle Hay location in Des Moines... (which I?ve been going to because it?s always good but Ankeny is less off the interstate). Was getting food for me and myfamily. We were heading down the line and they were out of mozzarella cheese. Not a big deal in and of itself?until you realizeit?s 6pm on a Friday night and the place is basically empty. Then you see the guac that is all brown. Like all brown. Whichmeans it?s not even tried to be stirred or kept fresh for awhile. And the lettuce that is kind of wilted. And they say it willbe up to 10 minutes for the cheese. Then they try to save our burritos to that point, thinking the made up burritos to thatpoint will just sit their for 10 minutes until the cheese is ready. We walked out. We went to Ames, Ames was packed withpeople. Staff cooking fresh steak, putting out fresh ingredients. Just better management it seems. Ankeny Chipotle once againshows it?s really not functioning ok. (Old review below) I eat chipotle often. Almost weekly. But I?m almost alwaysdisappointed when I try the Ankeny chipotle. Stringy stew like steak. And I always try to remind myself not to do an onlineorder because they short me on everything unless I?m there watching. Don?t do double protein online at Ankeny because you willnever get that.
