YAMA! Anytime I ask my kids "Whats for dinner" they always want yama sushi. The Scorpion King roll is hands down my favorite... roll of any sushi spot in town. I like their crunch rolls. The kalbi was more like jerky, hard to chew and very thin. Staff is friendly.
We ordered for pickup. Staff was friendly and got it right away. My sister knows him too. And if that wasn?t cool enough, check... out the vibe. Beautiful and calming music filled the place. So good! The owners are very friendly! I am vegetarian, and I asked for a custom roll that was not on the menu, he whipped it up... in no time and created it better than I even imagined. Who new meatless sushi could taste so good!? Thank you! Can't wait untilthe next time. Read more
(Updated review 12/04/18) Since our last visit to Yama Sushi, our experience has greatly improved, they have new owners and it... shows in all the right places. My husband and I spent a good hour and a half enjoying ourselves at the sushi bar. The sushi chefhas an excellent spicy tuna recipe and creates many delicious rolls. We were happy to receive on the spot designed recipes thatwere delicious and beautiful. That's one of a kind/unique service. The wait staff service was a vast improvement though thisarea could still use some work. but we were seated promptly and got all that we asked for so we were happy about that. The atmosphere is nice, its a dark setting with some colouredlights and a water fountain. When we walked in we were greeted to sit down anywhere,upon sitting the hosted dropped off our menuand didn't take our beverage order. As she dropped off water we said we were ready to order and she walked away. (Not sure theyspeak much English) they took our order and we asked for green tea, but they only gave my husband some, so I asked again andthey brought me some, it was delicious green tea, young leaves. The food its self was delicious and we enjoyed it but we werewaiting 15minutes trying to get the waitresses attention for another order that we told them we were going to make. When we wereabout to make our second order she just brought us the check. So we left. It wasn't busy at all, only 3 booths with about atotal of 7 people. If you go here I recommend sitting at the bar, avoid the middle man of terrible service. I hope this posthelps the restaurant fix its issues and the customer receive a better experience. Read more
The atmosphere was pleasing and very relaxing. But the service wasn't that great seeing my friend and I were the only one's... there and were just mildly ignored. The price of the food compared to the taste and amount is not worth it. We got beef friendrice at $18.50 and Korean sweet chicken at $20.99. They were out of miso soup and we were given something else, I believe theserver said egg drop soup. However I've never had odd veggies and no egg in egg drop soup. In general the food was substance,but that's it. Not somewhere I'd go again really. All the things tasted very bland. My friend said it tasted like left overPanda Express. We didnt try any of the sushi because it just looked over priced as is. They never got us our rice tea, butthankfully took it off the receipt. Read more
