EDIT: The assistant manager, Emma, reached out and has offered the chance to prove their quality and service. I bumped this... review up to 2 stars because of the good faith effort. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Disappointing experience. Ordered the 3 Tacos AlCarbon. Was shocked how little meat they contained. I understand that the menu picture is marketing flair, but this wasridiculous. Combined all the meat into one taco and it was still less full than what you could get at Taco Bell. Waitress sharedmy concern with the manager, but they didn't seem concerned enough to come to my table to chat about it. Poor quality food andeven worse management. When this place first opened, it was great. But each subsequent visit has gotten worse. After thisexperience, I will no longer be dining at On the Border. Read more

The food was pretty good. I got the birria tacos. The consume was good. Salsa wasn't real spicy but good chips. Lots of... margarita options. It wasn't super busy, but it was Monday. Our server was good. Read more

Great food! I mean it came out fresh exactly how i wanted it with all my substitutions. The cooks did a fantastic job. The... atmosphere was amazing! All the staff are friendly and kind. As soon as we walked in the place was full of smoke is that how it usually is?? Lol anyways we want right when they opened our... food was at our table within 15 mins of ordering. Had chips and salsa refilled pretty quick to nice service. The food was decentand good serving size for the price. I will say the rice was undercooked and wish I had lime for my tacos. Not gonna lie, from the outside you would think the food would be affordable. It?s not an affordable place at all, with what you... pay for, the place is dirty for being new. Menus are disgusting, the place has a cheap feel to it, the food has so much flavorthat it?s taste bud overstimulation. I don?t mean too spicy, it could use more spicy. Late post: I know this is a new restaurant for Anchorage, so I expect their to be hiccups. I been wanting to come since opening... day. Upon walking inside I was amazed at the decorations. It definitely gives off a tex-mex vibes and reminds me of Mexicoculture. The host let me walk in with my drink and I was told their was a wait of 20-30 mins. (Which was fine) but I didn't wantto wait so I was told I could sit at the bar. I approached the bar and the bartenders said (no outside beverages). Immediately Iwas like I just bought this somewhere else. Anywho, the food was pretty good. I ordered the Birria tacos and a Iced alcoholicdrink. 1 shot of titos is $10. When they brought my food they forgot the sour cream and avacodoes. Otherwise, the bar serverswere nice. They have tvs everywhere and music. Go visit and give it a try! Read more

Very busy but very good service. Lunch seemed rather pricey but it was a decent amount of food. Regarding the chips and salsa:... the chips are very thin and enormous but not very salty (and no salt on the table). Only one type of salsa, which isn'tmild--has a bite to it. Food was really good. I had the fish tacos. My husband had the pick 4, and we did two appetizers. Very good. Food didn?t take... long at all. Service was wonderful. Very friendly staff and fun environment. We will return for sure :) Read more
