Reviews for Bombay South Indian Restaurant in Anchorage, AK
I was quite shocked... Usually very good, but they completely and totally screwed up the order that I paid good money for. So we... didn't get what we wanted or expected. Also, 2 hours late with delivery and everything was cold. I ordered this for my chosenbirthday dinner and it was so so so disappointing. Read more
Delicious food and good with quantity too. Just be careful while ordering the spice level as we ordered medium spicy and that is... way too spicy compared to spice level we usually get in USA Read more
Great food. Loved the dosa. Taste and portion size was very good. Staff is nice, welcoming and accommodating. Parking is shared... and looked plenty. Samosa, Mango lassi and Tea were outstanding as well. Chutneys can be better, they were thin and not asgood as rest of the food. Will visit again. Highly recommended. Read more
We ordered a masala dosa and samosa. They seemed like they got it frozen and just heated them in the oven and served. Dosa did... not even seem like dosa tbh and the worst part was that the food was extremely expensive. Had a really bad experience. Would notrecommend! Read more
Paneer lovers rejoice at the mention of Bombay South! I've never had anything but a really fine meal here, and bonus points to... the friendly staff, as well. Their medium spice is even a little 'extra' in terms of warmth, but that isn't a bad thing. Enjoy! Read more
Now that was some good food. The tamarind sauce and mint chutney where both very good. Perfect spice level for the medium... tikka masala that included nice cuts of well marinated chicken. The staff was being extra careful with covid safety as well. Read more
I?m very happy to have Bombay South on my side of town! So far I?ve only ordered takeout, but the service I received while... placing & picking up my orders has been polite, efficient, and clear. And the food is terrific! If you eat meat, the mix grillis a must-try. You get to sample three different dishes, all served with peppers, onions, super-flavorful tomato-y sauce, andheavenly naan to sop it all up. They have equally excellent vegetarian* options - I especially like the palak paneer (freshcheese & spinach). Last time I tried a veggie dosa, which was a delightful discovery for me; something between a crepe and anEthiopian injera, wrapped around succulent potatoes, peas, and other veggies, and served with a saucy lentil sambal. This dishstruck a great balance between earthy and tangy, and I?d like to try their other dosas now! Anchorage does not boast anabundance of Indian food, but fortunately for us, we now have a restaurant on the southside that offers very quick service, convenient takeout, and well-executed classic Indian dishes that will please meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. *many/most oftheir vegetarian dishes can also be made vegan! Tried it for the first time tonight, pretty good stuff cooked to order. I had the lamb with medium spice level and it was right.
