We hadn't been to the buffet since before the shutdown, and the ambiance and character interactions were average. The restaurant... itself is beautiful. 2 or 3 out at a time, but we sat down at one pm, and were greeted by only 2 at the very end of our diningexperience. The food selection was good, however the breakfast potatoes were actually just fried tater tots, which was quitedisappointing. In the past they served delicious fresh potatoes that were seasoned. The mini desserts were tasty, but they ranout right after the time we sat down of about half of them, and they were not replenished again for us late diners. I wouldrecommend getting a reservation no later than 12:30 if you are looking for the full experience for brunch. It was about $60 peradult with taxes and tip included. Dinner costs more. Read more
We finally thought ahead this trip and booked breakfast at one of the character buffets and I'm so glad we did. The character... experience is worth the price so you don't have to stand in the lines to meet them in the park. The characters were all supernice and accommodating. We had EXCELLENT service from our server and his assistant. The food was hit or miss but there wasenough good stuff that it didn't matter that the waffles and pancakes were overcooked. I had to try. I normally eat at the Plaza Inn for breakfast and the kid loves it but we decided to try storytellers Cafe and I... can tell you I won't be going back to Plaza Inn. The characters are way more playful and cute, the food i a better selection andyou don't have to stay at the hotel to eat here. All are wins. If you've been to plaza inn and haven't been here you're missingout. I'm sure this will be your go to if you give them a chance. Read more
Buffet only dining located in the Grand Californian Hotel. Almost gave a 3 star rating since food could have been warmer.... Variety of food was descent. Dessert bar could have been better for price your paying for dinner. There?s a few items that aremade to order included in the price not mentioned on the menu. Soup, chicken fingers, cheeseburger sliders with french friesand grilled cheese. No a la carte items as an option to buffet. Adult and child prices. The birthday cakes you could customizeand order for your special day has changed with the pandemic. You can only order a chocolate or vanilla Mickey or Minnie Mousecake for $45. They drop it off with a candle and do not sing to you. Customer service was great and as always they always makeyou feel special. Reservations are highly recommended but you can try to walk in. They are not at full capacity but will nottell you what capacity percentage they are at. Read more

The food was delicious and service was great! However, everything was just overpriced. The best dishes were the cheapest on the... menu, such as the pizza. The corn chowder was AMAZING!!! And the bread pudding was yum. Apparently they have vanilla ice creamavailable to eat with the bread pudding or by itself, just ask your server. But the meats (prime rib, pork belly) could havebeen better. As for the price, there could have been a wider selection to include more seafood. Additionally, you areautomatically charged for tips. We don't mind tipping, but something about the tip being automatically charged doesn't sit wellwith me. I like to tip well especially if deserved, but I'd like the ability to change that otherwise. Breakfast at Storytellers was great. $158 for three adults (9 and under is kids, which is a little low for cut off if you ask... me). The characters come by and say hi for a few seconds, but generally leave you to eat unless you specifically ask them for aphoto or interact with them. Buffet included eggs, breakfast potatoes, eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffle, pancakes,fruit, croissants, pastries, muffins, ham, omelette bar, yogurt, bagels, cereal. Food was fresh and tasty. The server refilledour drinks when they were about halfway done, which meant I never went thirsty. We went at 7:10 am and had the place pretty muchto ourselves. It filled up when we left around 8:30. If you want to get in for early entry and still eat, I would book the firstopening at 7am. You serve yourself, so you could easily grab a large plate of food and fill up before 7:30. I felt it was worththe money and would do it again. Read more
