The food at Core Life is excellent- fresh ingredients and solid menu items. I don’t know how, but they actually make kale... enticing. They are slowww however. I'm sitting here at Core life in the Consumer Plaza, West Amherst NY, eating my Korean Barbecue after having close to the most... horrible ordering and purchasing experience I've had. First the person building my salad asking me questions in such a low toneof voice (while the house music drowned her out) that I asked her to repeat herself three times. At the cash out, the cashier(female) said my total without asking me if I wanted a drink and the card terminal machine was dangling by it's wire. So, I hadto hold it with one hand while trying to insert my card with the other. After my food purchase, I asked to purchase a gift cardwith another card. So, I had to repeat the process again. When this was done, the cashier and the salad preparer were chatting,when one said "your all set". I asked if I could have my salad which was out of my reach at the end of the prep line. Thepreparer closed the lid on my salad and slid it toward me. I then took my salad and gift card and began to walk away. When I wasnear the utensils, one of the same girls said that I had forgotten my drink cup. I went back to get it. These two girls wereobviously focused on themselves rather than my purchase. Always fresh and delicious! This core life is spacious, always clean and centrally located around a lot of other stores and... restaurants. So if you’re the healthy one in the group, everyone else can eat and be happy while you still grab your goodeats. Located right next to a patio seating for everyone to join you. Update: went back to visit and the food quality was improved. I'll likely go back again. +1 star ************** I really... want to like this place and I think it has great potential. However I think the quality controls need to be checked. I had avegan bowl and my son had a vegan bowl of soup. My son enjoyed his so all good there but in my bowl the quinoa was burnt and ithad a taste that just felt off. (Maybe not soaked and rinsed or maybe old and a bit smelly) I did inform the restaurant andthey said they would get me a new side of quinoa which would have been okay but then they forgot. So I asked about it again thenI finally got it which is fine however it did kind of take away from the experience. Finally the new bowl was only the quinoabut was also a bit crunchy/crispy which tells me there's a quality control issue with making the quinoa... I definitely recommend everyone to never come to this place. I found a Worm in my plate, and all shift supervisor was... responding to me was : I am sorry but we don’t wash the vegetables here, they come as pre-washed!!!! And all they did for mewas refund!!!! Very disappointed. We ordered the Spicy Thai Chicken bowl, which we have ordered many times before, it was our favorite take out... food. Today the bowl was half full (I should have taken a picture), very few greens, the cashew dressing was watery (it used tobe deliciously creamy), and the hot sauce did not come in a little container this time, it was poured right over the salad, toospicy for me. Not to mention that some of the ingredients that used to be free with this bowl are not free any longer. Ok, Iunderstand that certain things are more expensive these days, but given the price of the salad, and the amount of food you aregetting now... Oh well...
