It's loud, which is typical of a Mexican place, but it makes my ears ring. Food was decent, I had the fried whole fish and it... was okay, a little fishy tasting, probably not the best choice. Wife had a burrito with the seasoned pork and it was delicious.Staff and owner are friendly and helpful. We'll be going back. Read more

Love the patio at this restaurant, very nicely laid out. The food here is very good, we have been 3 times in the past month, we... like it so much. Service is very good too. Be sure to order the side of grilled veggies, a nice addition to any meal. Read more

Food was well prepared and good portions for the money. We got there two hours before they closed and two of the wait staff... started to eat dinner leaving only the bartender as a server, so service was slow. Asked for coffee with dessert and theybrought sugar but no milk or cream. Waited until I could attract the staff's attention again to get some creamers. I asked fora refill on my coffee as we waited for the bill to come back and was charged for coffee again.....the first time in my 72 yearsthat happened. Read more

Have been to Monarquia several times (formerly El Arroyo- new name, same place/same owners). Hands down the best Mexican... restaurant I?ve been to (including during my frequent travels to the west/southwest). Love the salsas, the seafood dishes, andthe carnitas. I haven?t tried other dishes yet but my friends/family have and always enjoyed them. The decor and pace isrelaxing; which is very pleasant. Staff and the folks I presume are the owners are great. Highly recommend for an enjoyablemeal. Read more

Their food is delightful - I have never had an item that tasted less than fresh. The burrito was like the ones I had in CA. The... only problem is with gluten free stuff. My wife has diet requirements and the staff is not quite knowledgeable about what itemsare available. I can order freely but after my wife tried twice to see if there was anything there she could have and never gotan answer (except to be told "the manager is really busy") we will have to pass on the place when it comes to couples dining. This is a nice Mexican restaurant all around. The customer service and care is wonderful. The food options are plentiful,... authentic, and taste great. There are great options for Gluten-free people. The Dutch exterior throws me off a bit, but it'sunique in that way as well. If you enjoy margaritas, then you will like the options here. Read more
