Reviews for La Provence in Ambler, PA
Had lovely dinner at this French Restaurant located right by the railroad tracks. Food was delicious, greatly presented.... However, it was odd to learn there is no wine to go with the food. I also found rather strange that in onion soup there are hugechunks of onions. Was the onion really caramelized or maple syrup was involved? Watching Jacques Pepin and Jean GeorgesVongerichten at French Culinary Institute in NYC, I learned that onions must be finely cut to properly caramelize for OnionSoup..... For sure would go back there, but only if they start serving wine with delicious dishes. Read more
Excellent experience! The Seafood Paella was made by Chef Manuel himself. My husband was thrilled with his meal, which was a... Spanish dish from the chef's former restaurant, Vida La Comida. Spanish different dishes are offered on Tuesdays in addition tothe standard menu. The Beet Salad was phenomenal, a must have if you like/love beets. The outdoor space is gorgeous. It's likeeating in a lush garden, so much ambience. Read more
First time at La Provence and it was absolutely amazing. The food was top tier, the ambiance was beautiful and the service was... awesome. Kai was a superb waiter. He was super attentive and took our experience to the next level. The salmon mousse wasdelicious, we also had several courses of entrees since there was so much to choose from. The rack of lamb was excellent. Ihighly recommend coming here. Read more
Excellent food and service. We had an outstanding dining experience. Really enjoyed the atmosphere too. Make reservations... because it's not a large place and it's very popular. Read more
One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Everything was excellent, the food ,he service and the atmosphere. It's tough... to find that attention to detail in a byob. The onion soup was the best I ever had. A really great spot with a constantlychanging menu. Read more
One of my top choices for dining anywhere. The best of part of this place is it’s convenient location; it’s not in Philly... nor in Manhattan, but right here in suburbia!! Food is unbelievable, atmosphere is very warm, inviting and the decour with thatgarden is truly beautiful and serene. There are even real vine vines in the front with grapes growing. Completely family ownedand run and done so very well might I add. I have been here for a Sunday brunch and finally for dinner. Cannot wait to return. Read more
I took my family to an enjoyable brunch on Sunday. Sitting outside in the springtime sun truly set the pace for our wonderful... experience. We started off with the FOS which by far was the most amazing well developed classic I have ever tasted! We enjoyedthe beet salad that had a nice nuttiness about it with just enough blue cheese crumbles. We all had to taste each other's disheswhen it came to entrees. Everything that Chef Patrice created that day left an impression on us that will keep us coming back tothis wonderful place to eat and enjoy family, laughter & life! Very well kept and truly very excellent service. Read more
We ate for the first time last night. The meal was good and I would go back if that was the only thing rated, but service was... off-putting. Our waiter ignored us when we were seated and did not welcome us. He just went around our table serving and talkingto the other tables. It took forever for anyone to get us water (even though he saw us) so we opened our wine ourselves to getsomething to drink (and as a note waiter never refilled our wine or water the rest of the night). When the waiter finally cameto our table his description of the specials were curt and short. We were ignored by him the rest of the night and the bus boysbasically served us. Finally for dessert the bus boy had another waiter (I think Kai) come and take our order because our waiterwas still MIA. He was great and gave descriptions and recommendations -if only he had been our waiter from the start! Althoughfood was really good, not sure I’d go back due to the inconsistent service experience. I come from a restaurant family andservice is everything. Read more
