Reviews for Ginger Noodle Bar in Alpine, CA
The chicken fried rice and shrimp fried rice is the best I've had. If you go there on the weekends it is even better. They add... sprouts and other vegetables that the weekday people don't add into the rice it is the best in town. Read more
We've been coming here since they opened. Last week my husband ordered a side of fried rice. While eating he said it tasted... different. That night he felt off he got food poisoning. He never felt so ill in his life. Read more
Food is reasonable. Worst part is they bring the food out in sections. Been waiting on my noodles for 15 mins. I can see them... from where I am sitting. The staff needs to get their act together. Read more

Had egg drop soup which tasted amazing and also had the Yang Chow Fried Rice, taste was good but portion size was a bit on the... small side imo considering the price, also checked throughout the plate and only found 6 shrimp. Service was great even thoughit was busy and getting close to closing time! Read more
Service was okay, decor very nice, ambiance well, seemed like chaos. But the eggdrop soup was very good, kalbi ribs very good... also but the scallion ginger grilled lobster was not very good...the portion was very small not much meat. Hardly any flavor andno drawn butter. I had to ask for it afterwards and the server tried to explain that there would be a while before he couldbring it, how do you serve lobster without drawn butter?... unless requested that way... It took 47 minutes from the time Iordered to the time my food arrived. Not worth the expensive pricing...especially the lobster, not worth it. But...with only 4places to eat and the Grove Steakhouse reservations filling fast everyday, there's not much choice. So, if you're willing towait 45-50 minutes, are lucky enough to find a seat, then enjoy but don't order the lobster, that's 40 bucks down the drain. Read more
I first saw Ginger Noodle hatch under Chef David Wong who created the menu & got the restaurant started. But after he left,... quality & flavor declined. But now, under Chef José Troncoso, there is a flavor reawakening, a creative renaissance, and aquality leap from B-grade Chinese food to innovative & flavorful Asian and Fusion Cuisine. The General Tsao Chicken, picturedbelow, started as a budget orange chicken with chiles thrown on; now, the General charges full force with garlic, chile oil, anda scallion bite! My sister fell in love with the fried rice on the first taste (so much so that I believe my niece, who was only3 weeks along when my sis found the dish, must be 65% Ginger Noodle Fried Rice). I intend to return after Chef José finishesthe dessert menu; spoiler, I?ve heard of a Matcha Swiss Roll or Cheesecake, but only time will tell. I can?t wait. Read more
From a great meal to the worst, bland dish you'll ever have the misfortune of paying for depending on what you order. Their Pad... Thai was so bad and flavorless I think I would have given a better rating if they served me only fortune cookies. I don'tunderstand why they even keep it on the menu, when literally everything else my friends ordered tasted amazing and well made. Read more
